This is an excellent addition to the site, one which is now listed in
my copy of NetNewswire. I am a fairly recent convert to RSS, mostly
being put for the trivial reader that the reader applications were
called newsreaders. In my head newsreader = usenet and nothing else! I
quite like the term news aggregator.
RSS is a tremendous way to keep up with news sites that are used
regularly. I currently have 22 subscriptions to various RSS feeds and I
find I can check this list of sites in a fraction of the time it would
take to open each individually.
No chance of an RSS client for EPOC to take advantage of foxpop's new
feature I guess :o(

Heartfelt thanks to
http://www.millican.info/revobats.htm
for the Revo battery pages. My German updated 24 mb Revo with new batteries wouldn't turn on at all but I did a hard restart and followed the instructions and haven't had any problems for a month !
However, I have a reconditioned Revo that I bought from POS which runs down in three days after a fall charge and without being turned on. I sent it back to POS who told me that I should allow it to charge for at least eight hours. But it still discharges at this fast rate. What should I do?

Subject: Removing PSIWIN Series 5 Unit Definitions
Hi
I need to totally remove all traces of PSIWIN software and any associated data files so I can reload it. This would be PSIWIN 2.3.3 on Windows XP.
I need to rename the PSION units as known to the PC. I am doing this because my Internet research tells me that this is the solution to the "There was a problem creating creating the main backup folder for the Psion drive because the file has been opened on the Psion". According to what I have read, a shorter PSION identification name must be used.
Thanks, in advance, Todd

Hello Itamar
I am writing in response to your message in the Digest of 27th Aug.
I have never used Crontab and therefore cannot comment as to how it should work. But when FreeNote loses focus and moves into the background, should Crontab close FreeNote automatically?
I have checked through FreeNote's code. It does have GETEVENT32 $404 and GETCMD$ enabled. So it should close if FreeNote receives a close event message.
Also, I don't recommend that FreeNote is kept open all the time, as the program backs up the database and certain other files during the shutdown routine. Keeping FreeNote open stops it from doing this. Exiting the program also frees up memory.
FreeNote, starts up quite quickly, so I cannot really
see why you need to keep the program running all the time.
On the subject of macros, I am unable to write a macro
for you as I don't have the knowledge in this area.
The last version of FreeNote was v3.08 which is still available from my website if you are not using this version. http://www.philipbister.ukonline.co.uk/
Best wishes
Philip (Author of FreeNote).

Subject: EMail Problem
While downloading my email this morning on my Maylay Book, the email app locked up. It gives me the following messages:
"EMail must now exit"
"The message server has closed"
and in the lower right corner the flashing message:
"Opening"
I tried a soft reset - no change.
I moved the Mail folder into my 5mx (renaming the 5mx Mail folder so I could return.
The problem then showed the same on my 5mx.
I then tried killing the index in the Mail folder. The two messages go away but the flashing "Opening" message remains.
I can cure my problem by replacing the Maylaybook Mail folder with the folder from my 5mx,but I will lose the two or three messages I hadn't processed.
Anyone have any ideas how I can same my unprocessed mail???
TIA,

Answer to: Mike Dyer
Re.: P800 & higher - Thanks for your extensive answer, appreciated. As I am still running and working daily with my mBook which I will not replace until it dies (and still a S7 spare ...) I don't really need to replace this into a much smaller and more limited Nokia 9500. Also, the phone is cconsiderably bigger and a bother to carry along when you go out in the evening or to a concert or theatre. However, I do want the possibillity to use a keyboard, so the SE P910 looks quite ideal for me. It will replace my SE NX73V (anyone interested, email me ?) and my T610 into one machine, which runs Symbian. Is Quickoffice the only spreadsheet program or are there more ?
You mention you automaticaly download your email via GPRS. Is that in the end not an expensive way ? What if you receive an email with a large attachment ? You further wrote :
>> If I delete an email from the p800's Inbox it is not removed from the
>> server until the next scheduled contact with the server hence my
>> mistaken thought that if I deleted the Digest I could still pick it up later.
Here I am a little confused. You wrote that you download your email via GPRS. How does that influence the email on your server ? What is the connection ? Can you explain in more detail how this all works ?

Re.: New Digest scope - Don't worry, as long as people write about EPOC it will be published. We still use our EPOC machines, amongst others to run the digest !!
