There is an archiving function. slightly complicated first time, but when you

get the hang of it...Sorry I can't give you any more details right now. It's

in a drawer in the office (as it should be - it's for travels) All in all a

nice machine, practical to have everything in one kit. The tricky thing to

hit the right spot with the arrow keys. And of  course the keyboard can't

compete with a 5mx, but the screen can, and slightly old-fashioned with no

GPRS, but if you want to be able to communicate just about everywhere, GSM is

what you need. Handier than it looks, but hardly a beauty. It should be

possible to find cheap ones now that 9300 and 9500 are coming.

The T610 does sync well with Outlook's phone address book.  I haven't tried

any other type Sync.  It is not the Symbian OS, but I really like it.  When I

have just my T610 no matter where I am at, I can go to my email accounts and

read and reply to my emails.  I often use it as a modem for my Psions, but as

we all know our Psions will only read text.  Well the T610 will read the HTML

messages also, which is handy.  So I personally, think it's a great phone.

Thanks,

Bob

Just thought some of you might be interested in this web site that recently

appeared - it suggests a rosy future for the Series 5xm!

David, I took a look at the site as your link sparked my interest and it's

got a very nice pic of a 5mx and not a lot else!  Why does this site suggest

a rosy future?  Am I missing something here?

Hello all,

Is the new Orange 3G Mobile Office card compatible in any way with the

Netbook? IIRC, the NB port door must be closed to operate the PCMCIA card,

has anyone developed a workaround for this? Thanks.

PS The screen is practically useless for spreadsheets. P800 is probably

better for that.

Re.: En Route problem - What jumps to my mind is that you might have copied

an old .ini file from earlier installations and than re-installed the

program. Try to delete the "enroute.ini" file in \system\apps\enroute.

Vodaphone UK have quoted me an "opening price" of Gbp 150.- for the P910 when

renewing my contract, but indicated that in light of my long contract with

them (over 10 years now) and my monthly bills they might well be able to do

it for even cheaper once it will be released. At the moment they are

indicating end of October to early November, just in time for X-mas.

At this price level I will be very interested in getting one, I am sure I can

sell my current SE NX73V for that kind of money ....

When I was in Ireland, I used an EirCom PAYG card with the following settings.

Dialup number: +353 21 4900501

Username: eircomnet

Password: eircomnet

SMTP Server: mail2.eircom.net

All other settings including the POP3 server to be left as they are at home

(wherever that may be). I suspect this will work with a roaming foreign card

if you make sure to roam on Eircom. If not, you could buy an EirCom PAYG card

and use for the duration of the stay. Considering the calls will be cheaper

than roaming, the Irish card may even pay for itself, particularly as you

won't be paying for incoming calls.

When I sailed from Spanish to Portoguese waters, I had some credit left on my

Spanish PAYG card and though that if I only checked e-mail a cuople of times

a week and didn't make any phonecalls, I would be OK until I got to the

Canaries and could recharge the card. Then my Mom rang me and chatted for

ages and suddenly the card was empty with no way of recharging it while I was

in Portugal. None of the Portoguese PAYG cards support(ed) data, so I had to

use Internet cafés for the duration of my stay.

Don't accept incoming calls while you're roaming. It'll be cheaper if you

hang up and ring them back. At least only one of you is paying for the call

then.

On the subject of seperate data and fax numbers, the only time you would need

them is if you accept _incoming_ data and fax calls. I would think it a very

rare occurrance that someone would want their Psion and GSM phone to accept

incoming data calls. I'm sure someone on the list is going to say (s)he uses

this all the time, but most of us would have no use for it.

Incoming faxes would be a bit more useful if you can get it to work. However,

I found I was receiving an average of three faxes per year when I had this

set up in Norway and I still had to know a fax was coming so I could line up

the phone and Psion and tell the Psion to wait for a fax. After a while, I

decided I was paying way to much for a service I never used, so I cancelled

the extra numbers.
