Re.: Email on 9500 - That is a major advantage over the P910 or even the 5MX / netbook. Every time you want to go back to the original text you have to save the outgoing email, open the original text, close it again, etc. It will make me consider the 9500 more next time I can / would like to upgrade.

Re.: netBook connectivity question - If you have the netBook (or mBook) and not the S7 you can indeed use Wifif with a wireless adaptor card. I use it all the time and it works great and fast !

Subject: PsiWin Removal
For: Joop Gerritse
Hi Joop
I have an application called Psiwin-reg-clean that comes as a zip file. Don't know where I got it from, but this is the text that comes with it - "Here is a copy of newclean.inf which is the PsiWin
registry cleaner. Place it on the desktop, right click
the file and then choose install. Then immediately
reboot the PC. Upon the next restart the registry will
be cleaned. This file also helps with getting rid of
the MY PSION icon should for some reason that icon be
left behind during a poor uninstall."
Hopefully, you will be able to Google it.
If not, contact me offline and I'll send it to you.

Subject: PsiWin Registry Cleaner
Hi Folks,
Joop, I imagine you need the script Mike McConnell has on his website. It cleans the Windoze registry but PsiWin must be uninstalled first. Then just click on the script.
It worked for me!
Happy days,
Phil.

Subject: Nokia 9500 - PC Suite[Scanned]
Reply To: Ian Sweetman
The Nokia PC Suite is probably fighting PsiWin for control of the
communications port, the first application to load will grab it & stop
the other from using it, this can be avoided by:-
Close PsiWin by right clicking the icon on the system tray (bottom right
of screen) & selecting close.
Or
If you have more than 1 port you can reconfigure PsiWin & PC Suite to
use different ports, so they don't fight each other.
The above works for me with my Netbook & Nokia 9210i.
The second option does allow you to have both connected at the same time
but it does not permit you to copy files directly from the Psion to the
Nokia.

Subject: Going online with a 5mx via a Nokia 6610 on O2 network using GPRS and PAYG
Can anyone give me the settings for this combo? I'm getting tiredof fiddling!
I can access the Web via GPRS on the Nokia alone, usingpay-as-you-go.
The Psion talks to the phone OK. Using the 5mx I succeed in reachingjust one Website - pda.o2.co.uk. But I can't connect to any other sitewhatever. What happens is that the 5mx (using Web) displays "Waiting forreply from host" and sticks there.
I've been trying many different settings - there doesn't seem muchpoint in my quoting them now if someone out there has settings that work.
I'm copying this to a few individuals on the list who I think might
be able to help - I hope they don't mind me hitting them with this twice.
TIA for any help that you're able to give.
Chris

Subject: 9500 printing, connecting PC Suite 6.5

Subject: 9500 enquiries
<I received my 9500 last week and have been enjoying learning how to use it. My first impressions have been positive. I have not missed the stylus at all which was a surprise.
I have experienced the following problems:-
1) printing - there are a very limited number of drivers. I have a Canon BJC85 and had hoped to continue to use this. Does anyone know if there is a driver? I see there are Canon and Citizen printer drivers for the 9110. Will these work on the 9500?
2) I have been unable to get PC suite to connect to my phone. Curiously I had more success with PsiWin 2.3.3 than I have had with PC suite 6.5. Any suggestions?>
I also have a Canon too (an old BJ-10x) so I too would be interested if there are new drivers available. I have used the general printer driver to my BJ-10x with limited success but the results are fairly untidy but at least it does work.
What exactly is the trouble with your connection - does it not connect at all? Are you using XP or ME? (I don't think the suite works correctly with anything older but I may be wrong). I use it with my XP laptop with no trouble at all - don't even need to bother with a cable as the two IR ports line up very nicely, something that can't be said of my Psion S7 which has to sit facing the laptop the opposite way as the IR port is on the back!
The PC Suite just sees the 9500 as an extra drive when connected.
