Subject: p910-Outlook synchronizing problems

I've had some problems with this in the past but can now say this works pretty well. Based on my experiences over the last 9-10 months, I can offer the following advice:
- Get the latest PC-sync software from the SE website. This has been upgraded from the version shipped on the CD.
- "Tune" this software to avoid dups. E.G. Tick option to resolve conflicts by using P.C./Outlook value.
- As above for firmware (see a recent post of mine for lots of tips here). Later versions offer performance improvements.

All the best from a very sunny Spain

Subject: Revo/Mako Screen Replacement?

I now have three Diamond Mako's with blasted screens.  The first was due to placing a pack of frozen noodles on top of the Mako.  I'm not sure what caused this problem in the other cases, probably leaving the Mako in the hip pocket of my levis and sitting on it while driving in the lastest case.  But the computer functions of all these machines are still fine.  I can see a portion of the screen in each case, despite a blue black blotch that obscures moer or less of the remainder. When thise first happened, due to the frozen noodles, I sent a query to this list and someone replied that it's not an easy repair to make. Occasionally, machines turn up at cheap prices on e-bay because the battery is shot, etc. -- so that I might pick up one with a good screen at for a good price.  I have four machines I could experiment with to learn disassembly etc.  Does anyone have any helpful advice about whether it's really all that difficult to graft the top fo teh clamshell from one machine onto the bottom of the clamshell of another?  Any other advice about the possibility of such a repair?  (I had another Mako in reserve, which I'm using now, but hate to simply abandon the others on account of the screens.

Re.: P910 desktop programs - There are several options in this field. The ones I can write about as I have got them are :

- SMan. This is not a full Desktop program, but it will allow you to toggel between the open progams, open any program via three menu choices (Fn, Start, Run), open any of 7 programs you can assign yourself with two menu choices (Fn, Program), it has got a "Today" view to show your appoitnmants and tasks for today, and much more.

- Handy Day 2004. First of all this program gives you a much better view of the diary which it basically replaces. It "sits" on top of Calendar and runs it for you (but still updates Calendar as well which you can always go back to). It has got however another four main choices which will give you a choice of going to any of the open programs (or close it), a choice to go to pages of shortcuts which you can assign yourself (to an application, a conact, a web link, a call, a SMS or a file). Each page can contain 12 shortcuts and basically you can open as many pages as you want. What is very easy is that it will give you a small icon at the bottom of the screen whenever not in Day 2004 to return to it. It really does a lot more than can be described in a short message in here.

- Together with this program I received Handy Desktop for free. This is the closest to a "Desktop" program. It gives you again pages of 12 shortcuts which you can plan exactly as you want. This program gives you however shortcuts to more options than the others, as you can also enter shortcuts to for example cxall a specific number or write a SMS to a specific person (instead of just to open a New SMS message). However, that is basically all it does.

Re: Upgrade of phone - I am again out of a contract with Vodaphone so I inquired as to the possibillity to upgrade to a 9500. They offered me to buy it at over Gbp 200.-. This might be a good price, but as my mBook is still very functional and IMHO still better for me than the 9500 I decided to stick with my P910 which I am basically happy about (having learned to live with the limitations).
