Martin,
>>Bit puzzled over the question, or perhaps I don't understand it, because it's very easy to set an Alarm for Agenda items in UIQ. In fact it works exactly the same as in Eikon. Just scroll down the window and you will see an Alarm checkbox. When you have ticked the box, the remainder of the dialogue items will be accessible where you can set the exact ring time.<<

I'm sorry, my question made sense to me when I wrote it, but when I read it again, it was somewhat vaguer than I intended. What I REALLY meant to ask was whether it was possible to set a specific alarm sound (ie. MP3
file) from within the Agenda for a particular item, without having to change the default alarm sound in the Control Panel? Mind you, Itamar understood what I meant, so perhaps it wasn't such a badly phrased
question after all :-)

Cheers, Ian.

Thanks for the response, Itamar. Trouble is, I can't even connect at home using my old dial-up ISP, so somehow I'm off the radar altogether. If I could get that to work, how would I use a phone card to connect? The only phone cards I know are those where you dial into a central number then when connected dial the number you need. Are you suggesting one of those, with the Psion on manual dial?

Anyway, I'm off to the airport now, and I won't be taking the modem to the States.

straight to your ISP in the UK (you are in the UK, right ?) ? Whenever I travel
I use GPRS to connect to my ISP without any problems and I don't think it is that expensive, but the business pays. Is anyone still using Compuserve Classic
account or does anyone know of another ISP with local phone numbers in Europe
and/or the world that can be used with a Psion ?

Hi there Charles,
Assuming that you've tried recalibrating the screen from the Control Panel/
Screen (you may have to do it about 3 times if the displacement is excessive)
I suspect that your screen is on the way out, as the same thing happened to
my ex-5MX.  It should be possible to use the keyboard, but perhaps POS
might be able to help?
All the best,
      Kate!!

Daniele -the first (and only time <BG>) that this happened to me my wife went from home near Chicago to London.  I changed home location to london, and missed our return flight!

Now, what I do, is to change the time in the control panel home section to time at destination without changing geographic location.

I'm trying to pretend that I'm more clever than my 5mx.
Not always true.

Subject: AGENDA FILES

for Phil Aypee,

In your recent reply to the question about opening a 'huge' Agenda file,  you referred to using a desktop editor.

In the past I have tried opening Agenda files using windows notepad only to
find that all numeric references, dates & times, appear as special  characters.

Have you successfully used any particular software to edit an Agenda file
where you can see actual timed entries?

I have tried all other options to recover my data without success.

Regards,

Idris

I've had really good results with Ericssons: SH888 and T68i both work admirably. I've also done well with a nokia 8210i.

The only real drawback with the small phones is their poor radio performance.

Thanks Itamar,
However the desired effect did not take place. The reason for my wanting to do a hard resent was the fact that all my Icon values had moved to the right, for example if I pressed Contact I got Sheet and so on.  Word is Word but so is Sheet.  Jotter disappeared.
Any suggestions ?
TIA
Charles Davies
P.S. All my important stuff is always on CF anyway but thanks for reminder.

Hi Charles,

I reckon you need to re-callibrate your screen,
something I had to do all too often on my Revo+...

Mike Dyer. (happy Treo 600 owner)
