Subject: Psion Screensaver
The CD that came with my 5mx contained a screensaver for the PC. It was the Psion logo with the letters rotating in sequence. I loved it. It worked with windows 95 and 98. But it doesn't work with WindowsXP.
The file is an .avi. After a couple of years with XP, I got to thinking about it the other day, Googled "convert .avi to .scr), found a converter and converted it. The program is shareware with an evaluation period. That means the final result contains a little statement as to how the file was created. Since I'm not interested in making my own screensavers, I doubt I'll buy the program. So the statement will stay.
If anyone with XP is interested, I'd be happy to send you a copy - just put it in the Windows folder.
Happy Cycling,

The method of promoting a product that does not exist, other than in the minds and note books of the designers, is nothing new. It's a technique that has been used for decades by companies as significant as Phillips in the Netherlands.
Unfortunate, but a way of researching potential sales.
As for the subject item: I've sent them a message (see their website for details) giving my thoughts and interest in a suitable product.

Subject: RE: Be careful on eBay
Thanks Hugh for the info. You person sounds just like the one that I had "winning" the bid for the 9300. The bad part is that I found another guy on eBay from London and he had twenty 9300's to sell. I sent him an email like I did the first guy and he had them for $346 US. Another great deal and it included shipping to the US. We had several emails back and forth but the price was about the same as the first guy. He also said that he didn't want to use Papal or the credit card thing because he had turned in his credit card. Lots of red flags again, so I didn't go for it this time. He might have been ok, but I didn't want to take the chance. So when folks do those things they really hurt the good guys too.
Thanks,
Bobby

Subject: 9500, 5mx, and Road
To Michael Asteriou, Chris Holly, Charles Davies and Vlad A:
Thanks very much for your observations and experiences with the Nokia 9500 and R.O.A.D. Despite some well-known reservations re the 9500 which some of you have also brough up, such as speed, less-than-ideal (at least relative to 5mx) keyboard and screen-size, and no touch-screen, I am now almost decided to get the 9500 to replace my aging yet unforgettable 5mx. As mentioned, the R.O.A.D sounds almost too good to be true, and in any case it is not here yet. And of course it's not reported whether, if ever it is actually produced, its phone would be usable in Canada. So thanks all again for your helpful comments.
