>I have been complaining about the lack of a lighted keyboard on the 9300 and I still do, but: The P990's keyboard is backlight
>1. I like the Epoc proximity of the series 80 S/W
So do I. More so than UIQ on the P910 and primarily because of the application persistence (I won't say "crippled multitasking" because that gets Rolf all hot and bothered)
>2. Its thumboard is much worse than the old 5 MX, but looks way better than the one on the SE 910/990
I agree the 9300's keyboard is better than the thumbboard on the P910, but that's not really saying much. On my P910i, I use the screen to enter text. In my opinion, it's more intuitive and faster than any thumbboard. In fact, I'd reckon, you'd need to go for a 9500 to be able to enter text properly. But you'd then have to get a small phone to carry with you for occasions when the brick was too much. Which would be most of the time... And has anybody tried to use the joystick on the 9300? Because of the lack of a touchscreen this is essential, but makes hitting your target - like a highlighted link in the browser for example - about as difficult as nailing the bad guys on the advanced levels of some "shoot 'em up" games. Finally I've heard that the P990's thumbboard is much better than the P910i's.
>4. The SE P990 seems never coming. Any news/idea when the SE P990 could finally arrive? I myself noted on these pages that it is delayed because of the M600.
On the official Sony Ericsson site http://www.se-store.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.comingSoon availability is now listed as June (Incidentally, the M600 is also June and the W950, August). Apparently, the delay was not caused by the new models and is probably caused by issues in the new Symbian 9 environment - issues that are also impacting on Nokia's range of Symbian 9 phones.

>What I didn't get to work is the USB desk stand - there seems to be no driver available for Mac OSX. Can anyone tell me if there is another possibility to do backups of the SE P900 using a Mac? Or do I have to set up some old Windows machine for that task?
On my Windows 2000 laptop, I can communicate with my P910i using either IRDA (Infra Red) or the USB desk stand (I don't have bluetooth on my laptop but this should also work). I know very little about Apples, but if you have IRDA then you may be in luck if the appropriate backup software is available for this platform.

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help me! My 7book has developed a faulty power
connector ie its fallen off inside the rear connector hole, I am slowly loosing
all my data and not enough power to do anything about it (silly me for not
backing it up when my old PC broke and got a new XP and not installed the psion
software). Anyway, I now have docking station coming to me within a day or so, and wondered if in order to charge it I must have the serial also attached to the pc or will it charge anyway with the power connector attached to
docking station. I am nights tonight and it is working shifts that made me
forget to do the install and back up and thats probably why i rely on the 7book so much. It is like it has my whole life for the past 3 years since I have
owned it on it!
Thanks for any advice
Best wishes
Elaine
I also have a second question as I bought an ipaq out of portability since
the 7book only goes out occassionally, and wondered if anybody knew of a ppc
application that is similar to agenda ie has letters for certain categories,
and also allows you to add an attachment to a diary entry?
thanks
