Subject: Associating files with correct programs and icons
I don't think this query has been answered by the recent discussion of file extensions.
When I export text from a Word document,
- the file appears in the system screen with an Opera icon;
- in its Properties it's described as 'text / plain ';
- when I open the file, it opens in Opera.
How can I get these files to look and act like plain text?
More generally, I occasionally get the wrong icon, or no icon, attached to files, and the wrong program, or no program, associated with them. How can these things be managed? If the answer is too long a story, where is it documented?
TIA,
Chris

Subject: How to avoid time change-induced backups?
I thought I was starting an incremental backup of my RevoPlus the other day, but PsiWin went ahead and did yet another (unnecessary) complete backup. I guess the change to summer time confuses PsiWin.
How does one avoid time change-induced Psion backups? I think someone once posted details about a technique to achieve this, but I seem to have misplaced the instructions.
Thanks,
Peter
