Subject: Touch screen miscallibration

Helo David and others,

I'm not having this problem with my S7 or revo, only 5mx.
Today, I tested a few things:
- closing DCP doesn't solve the problem
- restarting after a hard reset: I did have to recallibrate the touchscreen,
but before I put the CF with the backup and all the programs back, it seemed
all right (but didn't test for more then 15 minutes.
- after restoring the backup and the CF, the problem was there again.
- I took my spare 5mx, but just an hour ago. First impression: evreything
OK, with all programs en CF installed, but this needs further testing

So, temporary conclusion: it's a hardware problem in one of my 5mxs.
Has anyone else had this problem? Has it something to do with the screen
ribbon?

The miscallibration is always the same: the more you go to the right part of
the screen, the more left things will be "pressed" compared to the place
where you actually press. For example: is you press "extras", "jotter" will
open.

Any help will be welcome!

Bas

Subject: html version of The Digest

When I changed my subscription to the html version of the digest, I thought that I would be able to view the html in my email program, Outlook Express. However, I always have to click on the email attachment and view this in Opera browser, which is slightly inconvenient.

But, 2 or 3 days ago, I received the digest and I was able to view it in html on Outlook Express.  I don't remember changing any of my settings, but was it sent in some different format to allow this.  Digest V2#921 is back to the old way once again.

Many thanks,
Martin O'Neill

The old 3a link software ran on DOS, so if your Apple can now run a DOS emulator, then it should work.

I've never been an Apple user, since the days when Apples could display uppercase only, without lowercase.  So I can't help with that.
I found the DOS software easy to use, in fact better than PsiWin 1, that I immediately disposed of.  I now use 2.3.3 with a 3mx plus many ER5s.

You would need the 'soap-on-a-rope' and a USB/serial converter, such as supplied by Clove, which I use.  The Belkin ones are very risky as most do not work.

Alan Morris.

Subject: Nokia 9500 limited availability?

Hi

I don't wish to start a rumour based on what one mobile shop told me, but I heard that the Nokia 9500 is difficult to get at the moment.  Is this true?

If yes, then I wonder why:  Are they going to release a new/updated model soon?  Or have they had unexpected demand?  Or are they just having trouble getting a particular part? ---
