Subject: Returned digests
The digest team has decided to stop handling each message of a returned digest as due to the variety of different SPAM filters most messages we receive back are incorrect in that you still receive the digest. If you don't receive a digest, send us a message with ADMIN in the subject field and we will try and find out why you did not get it. In the meantime you can download unreceived digests from the website.
With best regards

Subject: Re: Sdicts
To Keith,
who...... downloaded other Sdict dictionaries, all with the same .dct file extensions as those in Martin's site, from http://sdict.com/en/ When I try to copy them into my Sdict folder, all the icons have a question mark instead of the big "S". First I was using a card reader, then I tried using Psion's serial cable, coping to both the C drive and the D drive. In each case when the copying starts and you see the file on the nB it has the proper big "S" icon. But as soon as the copying is complete, the icon changes to a question mark. Therefore the Sdict app doesn't recognize those disctionaries.
.....
Hi,
My only suggestion is to set a one and correct path for all your dicts in:
Sdic / tools / preferences/ D....Path

Subject: Intel Macintoshs
Until my 3a suffered its inevitable cable break, it was a portable
godsend, allowing me to work anywhere at any time, and demanding only
a pair of batteries every couple of months. I rashly replaced it with
a Series 5, only to find it had double the appetite for batteries, an
exceedingly reflective screen, and lacked the 3a's ability to
conveniently swap files with Macs. So I removed its batteries and it
has sat, sulking, on a shelf ever since. A Palm soon joined it, after
I realised the inconvenience of the small screen, the AAA batteries
and the folding keyboard.
However, with the advent of the Intel based Macintoshs capable of
running Windows, I realise that I might be able to take the Series 5
out of mothballs, and make it earn its keep.
Can anyone on the list confirm whether the Intel Mac/Windows setup
will operate with PsiWin?
Many thanks for any information or suggestions

There are two versions of the TCP/IP-update (the update that fixes the
lockup problem due to bad packets): TCPIP_UPDATE_ETHERNET.SIS (98764
bytes) and TCPIP_UPDATE_NON_ETHERNET.SIS (100782 bytes). Did you
probably install the wrong one?

Subject: Re: OS for Malaybook
I apologize for posting this with "Re: The Digest V1 # 968" as subject.
I'm re-posting it with a more informative subject line in expiation and in hopes of soliciting a solution.
In # 968, David Ford wrote:

I liked the mBook so much that I ordered on for my stepson. But he let it run down - and upon recharging, he can't get beyond the "My Schoolbook" screen. So I sent him a chip with the OS version 1.05 (453) Release 158. I didn't revive the mBook. I visited him a week ago and followed all the instructions about taking out both batteries and umplugging from the main power - and nothing happened. We still only get "My Schoolbook". In light of David's comment, I now wonder if I gave him the wrong version of OS.IMG (though that's the version I have on my CF card and I think it worked once for me.) If only 1.05(281) will revive the mBook, how can I obtain a copy? Is there a way to transfer it from my own (working) mBook to the CF card in my D drive?
Or could there be some other explanation of why we can't get beyond the "My Schoolbook" screen.

Subject: Greek font for Sdict?
Thanks to a message in a recent digest, I finally found the Sdict English-Greek dictionary, which I installed on my Mako. But since I'm not set up to handle the Greek alphabet, all the Greek words appear on my screen as "?????????". Is there a way to install a Greek font alongside the regular screen font on the Revo/Mako?

Subject: OS version, Wi-Fi failure on NetBook, psiwin 2.1 ,
Answer to: Melvin Woody
Re.: OS version - The mBook only ever had (AFAIK) one version of the OS which was specially for the mBook. If you can't find it at one of the websites recently published in the digest let me know and I will try and email it to you. however it is almost 14 Mb you sou must have Broadband and a large enough mailbox.

Re. Wi-Fi failure on NetBook - No, I did not find a solutoin but it most likely is a hardware failure due to the recent replacement of the motherboard and just today I sent it back to Pulster to have another look at it. Just reading your 2nd message which proofs the golden rule "if it ain't broke, ain't fix it".
Answer : Fer
Re. psiwin 2.1 - AFAIK you need Psiwin 2.3.3 to run it on XP.
