I am not surprised to see EpocChat close but it was a wonderful resource for those of us who needed help with our Epoc machines. Julie and I used to converse quite often on and off EpocChat. Julie and all those who participated in the Chatroom should have our gratitude for all the steady and hard work that they put into the project. Being in Washington State, USA, it was always very hard to find other Psion users so EpocChat was a valuable resource for me and I am sure many others. Many of us still have some of our older, but still very relevant Psions but have also gone on to other Symbian devices. I still use my 7book as a small laptop for email and writing letters and documents so they are still used quite often.
Thank you Julie and staff for all the great help and advice.
Thanks,
Bob Rudolph

Re.: EpocChat
Thanks for the message. Is the chat on European time or USA time ? What
kind of matters are being discussed in the chat ? Do you think we
could convert it to a wider audience than just Symbian chat to something
more for all kind of key/thumbboard devices ? Do you have contact
details for Julie ?
Thanks,
Itamar

To Lewis and Itamar
* Are you sure the Wifi card is compatible with the netBook ? Some * cards are and others are not. You can find more details in old digests, * search on the website in the index file.
* I have purchased a Buffalo airstation (WLI-PCM-L11GP) card for my netBook
This card works fine on my netBook, I sent this mail with the same card. The Buffalo card is the only card which can handle the encryption and doesn't block the stylus hole. In my opinion this is a must have card :-)
But for compatibility see here:

To Itamar: Kaiser phone
In my posting in Digest 1076 I gave a link to the http://pdadb.net/ site. This has a database of practically all Pocket PCs out there - current and forthcoming - and lists the following comparison between the 9100 and Kaiser:
Q9100 58 X 108 X 24 169 gramms
Kaiser 58 x 110 x 18 160 gramms
So the pictures may not show it, but it's 25% thinner !!!
Because you are on holidays I've made the comparison easier for you (;-)) Click here to see the 2 phones side by side: http://pdadb.net/index.php?m=pdacomparer&id1=733&id2=308
To Kevin Collins
Yes, good to hear from you as well! Thanks for the link to www.pocketpcfreewares.com. It looks good and I really like the ability to quickly sort everything on the site by ranking or popularity.
All the best from Dublin, Ireland

That is exactly what happens with the Revo Battery - it think's the batteries are low, when they are not. To explain it another way:
One part of the battery monitoring/calibration system is confused, but this does not (normally) affect the reported battery level. Although it may actually be the other way around - the battery level is reported higher than it actually is, so the battery is not charged to a high enough level, so that it cannot supply enough juice (current) to play sounds/etc. The latter explanation is supported by the fact that a hard reset of such Revos often causes the reported battery level to greatly drop, but sadly they usually get confused again.

Well, they obviously aren't so professional :-(

Did search the internet, even through Wayback Machine (Archive web searcher), only some sites mention this package specially for the Geofox One.
No, even Martin Guthrie from www.Pscience5.net is searching for this software.
The Digest is/was my last hope...

Subject: Good Sync
Hi all,
Somebody recommended once Good Sync for backing up CF cards. It was a very good advice ! Thanks to him or her. I use now Good Sync for all my backing up (one way sync) or real sync (two way sync).

Subject: Trains and Underground Berlin Map for 5mx/MC218
Hi Giorgio,
I use TubeRoute on a 5 mx for all sorts of "tube" maps. I don't know if there is one available for Berlin, but I think you can easily create one.
Good journey
