* As a very green subscriber could someone advise me? I have a
* new gmail account which I am trying to use with my 5mx and a Nokia
* 6230 phone. I have tried various settings for POP3 and while it
* achieves 'connection to internet' the 'connection to mailbox' is
* always timed out. Can anyone recommend settings or ha the latest
* technology superceeded 5mx capabilities? By the way, Yahoo uk pop3 is
* working well.
Hello Richard,
I think it isn't possible to reach a GMail address with a Psion.
The solution is:
- Go to your Gmail address and forward the incoming mail to an other mail address which you can reach with your Psion.
- Make an other setting in the 5MX which tells the sender that you sent that mail for the GMail address, but you sent it by an other SMPT (POP3)-server
Success.
Regards,
Kees.

Subject: converting documents
Hallo!
Just discovered this, looks like a great idea: http://www.media-convert.com/It seems it is a site which offers free conversions of hundreds of document formats in others. Psion formats seem to be missing, though...
Anyone any experience with it?
Wouldn't it be a good idea for you programming-savvy people here to have a look?

Re.: Office Documents On Smartphones - I still doubt whether even on a communicator or E90 one can do serious editing or writing. Is there anyone on this digest that does this on a regular basis ? My netBook is perfect for the job, but of course not a phone ...

I agree with you, Itamar: I write only the briefest notes on my Nokia 9300i (of course, this is smaller than a 9500).
I'm currently using a 3-box solution: 9300i + 5mx + MalayBook. But I have the vague intention of reducing this to 9300i + MB with 5mx for occasional use when I'm travelling light.
