Just be careful you don't slip into "nextversionitus"! If you really can wait for - say - 6 months, then I'd recommend the Sony Ericsson X1.
It has the following "everything including the kitchen-sink spec":
o 800 X 480 screen
o GPS
o Slide Out keyboard
o Smaller size and lighter than the TTYN II (despite having a screen thats 800 X 480 rather than my 320 X 240!)
o FM Radio
o Yet to be launched, next version of the WM OS - 6.1 (NOT Symbian)
Check it out at http://www.sonyericsson.com/x1/
I'd be interested to see how well that screen works in practice. The pixels will be tiny, so good "reading" eyesight will be essential if you want to make use of all that resolution. If I hadn't already purchased my TTYN II, this would definitely be my next phone.
Just don't expect it to be cheap...
All the best from Dublin Ireland

Subject: LiveBox with Nokia 9300i
I have a Mac and a Nokia tablet and have no problem getting onto the
net. But the Nokia 9300i for some reason, after accepting the WEP
code, tells me it can find no internet connection.
I suspect that I am not giving the correct information in the Advanced
page of the internet control panel. Can anyone suggest the correct
entry? I use an Orange LiveBox wifi connection.

Moshe, I just got a Dell XPS M1330 as a replacement for an ageing IBM Thinkpad. It's an excellent piece of kit, with a brilliant 13.3" LED screen, and wonderfully legible - I hardly notice the difference switching from the 15"! It weighs just over 1.8 kg with the standard six cell battery. Get the extra 9 cell battery - well worth it to get a complete day's work without having to recharge. It connects to Wi-Fi networks in a flash and I'm a fan of the quick Vista restart from hibernation. Looks great too.
My Malaybook has by now earned its retirement: I could not use it for work purposes anymore as it would not connect to modern Wi-Fi, and PsiWin synching had simply become a pain...

Subject: Blootooth on a netBook or 5mx
Has anyone tried one of these on a netBook, Series 7, 5mx or Revo:
http://www.netpcdirect.co.uk/bluetooth_serial_adapter.php
I am increasingly finding that mobile phones are lacking IR ports and was wondering if anyone had had any success in using a blouthooth RS232 serial adaptor to connect to a mobile for calls or to any other bluetooth device for file transfer - perhaps even to PsiWin.

Subject: ASUS eeepc
I have followed the observations about this with interest. However none of the ones I have seen have an internal modem fitted so how do you send / receive emails away from a wifi hotspot? I have not seen a Linux USB modem for sale nor a Linux USB Infa red port.
Have I missed something?
Regards John.

Subject: Pocketable and several text files
Hello,
I am looking for a device with the following specs :
- pocketable
- complete keyboard (AZERTY)
- text editor with OUTLINE mode
- ability to keep two or more text files open at the same time,
and to easily switch from one to the other
The Psion 5mx is of course the perfect answer (with many more features)
but mine stopped working (cable problem ...) ; the Nokia 9500 is a
decent
candidate ; the E90 is not (only one text file at a time !) ; can anyone
here suggest other answers ?
Thank you

You might like to look at this "TangoX" machine from Asia - it has a touchscreen and a built-in VOIP handset (!) as well as being quite tiny.

(Or Google for TangoX - nice pics on Gizmodo).
