Subject: Converting between Psion Contacts and Psion Data Name and Address files.

New Psion users or those upgrading from Psion 5 to Psion 5MX machines ( many are sold each week still on Ebay ) may be interested in the following.
The freeware program CONVERTDATA available from www.mawby.me.uk will easily map from your own quirky Data names and addresses file to the Psion Contacts application and then transfer your data. Full , illustrated, instructions are included in the download.
If you want to convert back from CONTACTS then the program C2F will produce a custom delimited text file from CONTACTS.
Choose the usual " and , delimiters.
This program is available from www.home.hccnet.nl/joop.nijenhuis/psionos2/files/csf109.zip
nConvert is now available with a free registration code from www.neuon.com/downloads/
Name your delimited text file name.csv
nConvert will open this in SHEET in columns so that it can be tidied up , column headers checked etc.
Save the SHEET with a new name
Use nConvert to change this to .csv file
Then use PSIWin 2.3 to convert the .csv file to a Psion Datafile.
This gives total ability to move between the 2 formats.
Hope this is helpful.
Regards John.
