I have experienced none of the problems Ian has quoted. I have had no
difficulty setting up emails accounts: my Apple .Mac (IMAP), Gmail
(POP) and BT (POP).
I use my iPod with a Mac so cannot comment first hand on Ian's second
point. However, I do know others with iPod Touch and iPhones used with
PCs and have not heard about this before.
I have no doubt both these issues arise but they are perhaps not the
norm.

Please note: the Nokia web tablets (770, N800, N810) are Linux-based machines not Symbian OS. So I think its unlikely Garnet will run on N95.

Re.: iPod Touch - I was not aware of the problems you wrote about but I did not yet try out the email function and I never have iTunes open without the need for it to be open so I could not have found these yet.
I agree that at this moment in time these machines are not full PDA replacement but there is a move towards Apple approved third party applications and if you "jailbreak" your touch you can already install a lot of additional applications instead of all the worthless online application that you can only use when you have Wifi around. My hope is that in another half a year or so there will be many more programs available and than i will judge it.
Best regards,
