Yes. Look in the digest archive at around nr. 990 (keyword: "5mx keyboard").
I got then some good advice von Itamar and Paul Wright, about a
kitchenknife... It worked for me, but it's a bit risky...

Having had the 1st version Eee and now the 901, I would definitely agree with you. Battery life with wifi off, brightness 3/4 strength, gets me 6 1/2 hours. With wifi on and streaming internet radio, surfing websites, I get 5 1/2 to 5 3/4 hrs.

The slightly bigger screen makes a world of difference so no more scrolling sideways for sites like bbc news. (my version is XP so not sure about linux build).
Plus the spacebar has been improved.

Hell all
After over 10 yrs of Psion usage, various models, I now use apple macs 
and a sony ericsson P910i exclusively. I have therefore advertised my 
netbook on e bay together with lots of bits & pieces. I would like it 
to go to a good home! If only the S5 could have been "modernised" I 
would wish for no other.
