To add to the repairs postings I am pleased to testify to the effiency of psionflex screen cable repairs.
My 5mx was turned around in a couple of weeks and is happily back in my briefcase.
Many thanks to Paul Wright, there's no way that I could have undertaken this myself.

'Puzzled' would also describe my reaction, along with 'offensive' and 'inappropriate'. There is no place for this kind of personal abuse on this or any other list.

For a while I was puzzled by this post, until looking at it closer I
suddenly realised who it was by and why:

In case some people are even slower on the uptake than me (statistically
there ought to be a few!), I'll point out that Alan Rabbitte must have
appended it to his post, presumably to parody (how he saw) Rolf B behaved
on the Digest.

While I can understand the point he is trying to make, I doubt that I am
the only subscriber who thinks this isn't appropriate behaviour for the
Digest.  Perhaps some others can post whether they think this sort of post
is acceptable or not?  I'm sure that Itamar would appreciate it, since he
doesn't like to act as a dictator on the Digest.

Personally I think that Alan should apologise, if only to avoid a flamewar (not that I think Rolf will take the bait), particularly since the
Evolutions & Morality of Software errr arguments have only just abated...

Hi,

I have a .vcf file with a number of contacts in it. I used PC Suite to try and update the contacts on the 9500, but after a while it did, but only the first one in the file. There are about 50 entries in the .vcf file. How do I transfer the file to the 9500 and get the additions into Contacts?

Nice detective work Chris.
I hadn't figured it out, but on re-reading the post I think you may be right. Like you, while I  understand the point, I think it is not suitable way of making the point
However much we get fed up of some members postings, I think we want to keep the digest from being deliberately offensive. (I too get fed up of RB ;- )

...and to go even more off topic ...., I too would be interested in hearing about the Palm Lifedrive, but I appreciate it is not a Psion!

Hi Alan,

What a great peace of comedy.
I almost went into fits of laughter.

Hello all,

I thought it was worth giving an update on my proposal to move the above discussions (aka scientific heresy) elsewhere:

I have only recieved two emails expressing an interest, and surprisingly neither of those was from Rolf B!  Given that the Digest has 700+ subscribers, obviously there's no point in mentioning any scientific issues again on the Digest.

(However, if anyone here has a passing interest in science, then I still strongly recommend occasionally picking-up a copy of the weekly New Scientist magazine - or even just checking out some of the articles on their web site for free!)

P.S.  You may be surprised to see that I am actually letting Rolf have the last say on the subject of Evolution! :-)  To be honest, that's mainly because I have delayed reading his last couple of posts on the subject until I was ready to write a reply, and of course the opportunity to reply to his last post hasn't ever surfaced...
