I had Psiwin installed and when I tried to install my original PC Suite for my N-Gage QD, my laptop wouldn't let me have them both on the same computer. I couldn't install PC Suite with out uninstalling Psiwin.  I am now using my 9290 and have that version of PC Suite installed.  I was thinking about trying to install Psiwin again and see if they would be work this time.  Any ideas???
Thanks,
Bobby

>Re.: Nokia 9300i vs SE P990 - I think that OPL by itself will not change my opinion as I never got into developing software in OPL (or any other >program) myself. Only if the community of software writers - both commercial and shareware - would start to develop software in OPL again would it >make a difference for me. What are the chances this will happen givn the nowadays (very) short lifespan of each platform ?

I understand well where you're coming from. You have to be an OPL addict like me and perhaps other Psion users to appreciate it. My personal key use of OPL is not to develop freeware and shareware. My personal key use of OPL is to have the ability to jazz up a simple app whenever I need it, may it be a macro or a repetitive calculation etc. I can do that on the Psion 5mx, on the 9300i, and on the P900/910 but it is not yet certain whether or not I can do it on the SE P990, W950, M600 or the Nokia E61/E62 etc, since OPL's future on Symbian v8 and v9 is not yet certain.

Maybe Python is the answer, but I'd of course prefer an OPL machine.

Couldn't agree more Itamar, I just did an early comparison of the netBook with the first of Microsoft's "Origami" machines.  You can find it on the Psi-Log at "www.psiblog.fords.co.nz"

BTW there is a Java based VNC client for the netbook that allows you to control a desktop machine running the free VNC server.  It's not that pretty and not much fun to use, but it can be used in an emergency to (say) mail something from your office.

What would life be without dreams!

However...

Seen yesterday on UK TV.  An A5 version of the current colour screens (PPC PDA), reported as the next big event in portable computers.

But no keyboard.

I recently bought a Tablet PC (Toshiba R10) to replace the current notebook, for use with digital photos (bought a DSLR) and GPS mapping.

Touch screen is not a 'touch' screen as one needs a special pen, but the screen, after opening, rotates and then closed, to cover the keyboard. So I've now got a B4 PDA screen device!

Now a colour 5mx or netBook with that type of screen mechanical hinge would be ideal running ER5.5.

I'm still dreaming...........zzzzzzz.......

On my Windows 2000 laptop, I can communicate with my P910i using either IRDA (Infra Red) or the USB desk stand (I don't have bluetooth on my laptop but this should also work). I know very little about Apples, but if you have IRDA then you may be in luck if the appropriate backup software is available for this platform. >>

Hello Alan,

thanks for your message. Connecting to the Mac (iBook) is not the problem - sync via Bluetooth is working very well. But unfortunately you can backup the P900 only if there is a cable connection (backup does not work using BT or IR).

Kind regards,

Gunter
