Subject: Psion Revo Link to PC
> I have a Diamond Mako (Psion Revo) which I am not able to link with my PC(XP Professional), for the last couple of months. I am not able to > figure out why, the error message pops up each time. Tried the "help" with no success.
This also happens to me every now and then, but I was able to find the culprit in my case - Palm HotSync was active. Once I deactivated Palm HotSync, the PC's port was suddenly free for the Psion, and I could sync without difficulty.
Don't know if the above is applicable in your case, but you might want to deactivate any other synching software on your PC before trying again with the Psion/Mako, since it may be blocking the needed port.

Subject: Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa - but can anybody help?
I am a bad boy. I will backup my netBook everyday - from now on - really
But is my situation hopeless?
I was emptying Recycle Bin (Essential Systems Tools version) and rather overdid it. I selected all the files and tapped the button to Empty Recycle Bin. The screen went dark, the netBook beeped, and the netBook splash screen came up like it had reset. Some of my recent files, including the Recycle Bin were no longer recognized by the system. I mistakenly then installed the wrong recycle bin program (I didn't notice that other files were not being recognized at first). When I went to remove it by going into Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, that did not open and I got an error message saying "Not Supported" instead.
I tried running Essential Disk Utilities but got the error message about the FAT Indirect Table being corrupted, but Chris Handley has pointed out that this is due to having added extra memory to the netBook (which I have done).
Needless to say I have been a bad boy and have not backed up recently. Is there anyway to retrieve the files that the system is not recognizing anymore?
