"I am US based, and wonder if anyone can still access Prodigy/sbcglobal or another ISP  who is still basic enough to be received by a 5MX."

Howard
I've been using worldnet.att.net as my isp account with both 5mx & netbook and all works great with se t68i ir connection set up with standard gsm service - the gprs setup won't work.
I'm located in NY Long Island been using it for many years now. Hope that helps!

Good Day Donald

Re.: Backups - Why not backing up the internal disk with Psiwin and the CF card with a card reader ?  It will certainly be a lot faster and would there be a huge difference in the back up ?

Re.: Nokia 9500 - Thanks for your answer. I asked an open question and am not sure myself what I would choose. As I don't have to change my phone yet I can wait until such time I will have to decide.

Subject: Fund raising for sunk ship Naomi J.

Hello list members,
at first a brief introduction to short-time digest members: Owen Morgan used to live on his sailboat Naomi J in various parts of the world, usually working for several months at the various places to earn his living. On http://home.no.net/naomij/ he has put some information (somewhat outdated) about himself. Until a while ago he was a frequently posting member (No 4 frequent poster of digests #1-300) of this digest via his Psion 5mx and a mobile data connection. One of the many contributions of him was the Psion freeware morse trainer MorseIt, available on my homepage http://psion.uh-lab.de . Even after he has left the digest, every now and then his name is still mentioned here, and many of the older digest members remember him well.

We all have heard of the disaster that happened to Owen: his wooden sailing ship Naomi J. got run over by "M.V. Asian Excelsior". Naomi J. sunk after the accident. Owen lost ALL his belongings including Tita, the ship's cat. Very fortunately he survived.

I wondered how we could support him. As someone from the digest has put it years ago: Owen is leading a life that many of us admire - but we don't dare to. From this standpoint I want to ask the digest members that feel compassionate with Owen and his fate to give a larger or smaller amount to help him in this very bad situation. I have asked Owen's mother to give us banking account data where we could collect some money on his behalf. My hope is that many of us can contribute something. Compared to him, we all are very rich at the moment.

So I want to start the collection by sending 50 Euros on his account. Don't take this as an upper or lower limit for you - any amount will help.

Account Owner: Owen Morgan
Name of bank: Sparebank 1 Vestfold
Owen's IBAN-number: NO20 2480 04 43446
BIC-address (Swift code): SWEDNOKK
No transfer fees from EU countries, as I am told.

BIG THANKS to all who can contribute.

With greetings from Germany
