Woody

I had forgotten about that, it was over 3 years ago, managed to find a
copy in my backups which I have sent via pm, I can also supply in MS
Word format if required.

I also hope to retire next April/May but I suspect that I will use
computers less rather than more, as I am a NHS IT Manager, having said
that I do like my gadgets & provide tuition for the older generation as
well as the odd youngster trying to pass his A levels.

I only use my Netbook occasionally these days, primary PDA is a Sharp
Zaurus SL-C3200 along with the Imate Jasjar phone, having failed to get
the Jasjar to replace all my gadgets.

I'm happy with my Nokia 6610i, which I use for surfing with both my 5mx and my netBook. It's got FM radio - I *suspect* it hasn't got MP3, but I wouldn't swear to it.

I am really going to have to breakdown and get a cell phone. I assume I have to
get something from T-mobile or Cingular with a SIM card that I could later pop
into a Nokia 9500. For now though, I just need a small phone that I can use
with my 5mx or netBook for Internet access. MP3 + FM radio would be nice.
Infrared a necessity obviously.

The 6230 sounds great but is not an option offered by either US GSM carrier.

does anyone know if a Nokia 6102i or a 6103 would work? or a Sony Ericcson
Z252? Any thoughts would be appreciated.  --Chris

Re.:  MBook for 5mx
Ah, you see the light again ... or the darkness <G>. The mBook is still unsurpassed for me for a lot of tasks and functions, although other functions my laptop has taken over. Actually, my mBook has just been upgraded to a full fletched second hand nBook by Pulster who, allow me for once to praise someone, gave me excellent service and was very helpful, even though I am in the UK and he is in Germany. Due to his service I now have a mBook ROM unit available which apparently can upgrade a S7 to a mBook. If anyone is interested, please email me after 14/9 as currently I am on holiday in Canada and the USA. Att:  All Manhattan members
Re.:  Help with SE phone
Unfortunately I burnt my charger in Canada and currently am without a charger. I will arrive in Manhattan coming Thursday evening and will need to buy a charger. I will be staying in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. What would be the best place to buy such a charger ?  Luckily I do have a spare battery with me and I hardly use the phone at all, much too expensive to use. Any advice would be appreciated to my email address "itamar<at>dotara<dot>co<dot>uk". Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Many thanks for the replies about the 'insert sim card' message. I think that maybe the sim is caused to loose connection when in the pouch in my pocket as it is squeezed at the lower end where the sim is. The pouch I use is actually for a small block plane and is thinner at the bottom. Since I now carry it with the phone in the other way up I shall see if it happens again.
But I am also having problems with a document I made up in word with a simple spreadsheet embedded. If I enter my new details in the spreadsheet and save with a new name then exit in order to print the document becomes unopenable.
When the doc is in epoc mode and I open the spreadsheet and try to alter column width or sometimes even move about the sheet it corrupts.
In order to print I must change format to word 97 and close otherwise I am told the document is 'in use'.
I have been using an identical form on my Series7 for years without problems. What am I doing wrong?

Martin Maxwell, Did you mention some Canon printer drivers for the 9500? Where can they be obtained? Can they be used over wifi to a printer connected to a pc? Eg my Canon Pixma?

I notice that not all Bluetooth headsets reconnect automatically with the 9500, I wonder what have other users found - my Logitech has to be manually connected each time.

TIA,

Jon Welford
