To Lewis,

*Please advise me what I am doing wrong to be alble to connect *directly to awireless (WIFI) connection either at home or in WIFI cafes...

Hello Lewis,

Go to the control panel
Ethernet
My settings are:
"Stay connected for: 20 min"
"On Exit 00.00 min"

push (Ctrl+E)
Settings
- Name: Home-DHCP
- Method: DHCP
- Device: Lucent WaveLan / Orrinoco card

push (Ctrl+O)
Basic
- Network name: "your network name"
Advanced
- AP density: High
- Rate 11 Mbps
Power management

- yes

Encryption
- When encrypted put here the keys.

Push OK, Done, OK

But it is better to get excess to your network without any limitation. When you have connection, try then the encryption, and after that the mac-filter on the router.

Kind regards,

Kees.

Hi Alan,

I don't think that from the photos of the new phone one can conclude
that the phone is considerably thinner than my Qtek, sorry. It look
spretty much the same to me with the same controls on the sides.   As to
the price, I got my Qtek 9100 for free with a year contract with
Vodaphone in the UK.

Thanks for the update on the programs and websites. I am currently on
holiday but will respond with my details next week some time.

Best regards,
Itamar

Re.: Berlin maps

Hi. I sugget you check if Metro have a version for Nokia 9500 as they
have the most extensive maps for undergrounds and tramlines for many
cities all over the world.

Re. Colorshow for Geofox

Sorry but I don't know. I suppose you tried to find it on the internet.
Has p5science got a copy ?  If not, maybe he knows where to find it ?

Re.: WIFI on netbook

Are you sure the Wifi card is compatible with the netBook ?  Some cards
are and others are not. You can find more details in old digests, search
on the website in the index file.

Best regards,
Itamar

Hello all (ex) Psioneers,

I have a bit of bad (but not too surprising) news:  Unless there is a marked increase in the number of people visiting EpocChat, Julie (aka NetbookBabe) will not be able to justify the renewal cost, and hence it will close in August.

I can't castigate anyone for not visiting EpocChat, since I have not visited it for well over a year myself.

I gather that she would be open to converting it into SymbianChat, but she'd need a lot of additional help in running it (for admin overseeing the weekly chat, probably in running the web site, and maybe costs too).  I don't have the time myself, but thought it might be worth mentioning on the Digest once.

For anyone who's not heard of EpocChat before, it is a Java-based chat room where meetings are organised once a week on a Sunday.  It can be found on www.epocchat.com

In that case, I would expect the battery charge indicator to be low. It isn't;
I never saw it below 98%.

I had them replaced by a professional firm, but I know, that's no guarantee..
And I did charge them fully (I thought it was 6+ hours, actually, that's what
the manual says).

Well, I have been offered help from several people, thanks...
