Subject: Change in the Digest

Dear Subscriber,

Some months ago we checked with you how you saw the future of the digest and a large majority of subscribers indicated you would like the digest to extend to include all handheld devices with keyboards. We have now decided the time has come to act and as of this issue the digest  is open to messages about ALL makes and ALL operating systems. We will endeavour to make clear that the idea of the digest is to discuss key/thumbboard devices but we cannot guarantee that all messages will comply.
We decided to leave the name of the digest the same as anyhow the name is already neutral. We trust that this change will bring new life and new subscribers to the digest and please don't hesitate to bring the digest to the attention of family, friends, colleagues and others that might be interested.

With best regards
Itamar Engelsman

My must-have software for the Treo is as follows:

Datebk6 - gives the Agenda a bit more of the capability of a
Psion Agenda.

Butler - enables the phone shortcuts to be used from anywhere.
Also provides a host of other little tweaks.

iSilo - ebook reader.

BackupMan - backup data to the SD card.

MathUPro - a proper calculator with the great bonus that it
looks like a classic HP RPN calculator.

Bejeweled2 - a great way to waste a LOT of time.

UnDupe - get rid of duplicate entries in agenda and contacts.

If could only have one it would probably have to be DateBk6.
Hope these help.

Steve

see your pm.

Looking for it I found:
Contacts 2.00
=============
This upgrade improves synchronization with the Contacts application on Psion Series 5mx machines. It eliminates the appearance of duplicate entries that occasionally appeared on some machines after synchronisation with applications such as Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Organizer.

and don't know exactly what it is/ good for. Any idea anyone?

best,

Re.: Symbian Agendas - As far as I remember this is not possible with the Symbian machines as the agenda is part of the PIM details and is not kept in a specific file. Also all the third party agenda programs sit on top of the Symbian Agenda and add functions to it. It is exactly the same with my WM5 machine.

Best regards,

Itamar

Hi Dick, Fergus et all,

welcome (back) to the best pda on the market  :o)

I'm using eReader a lot and Documents to go v7, these came free with my Treo 650's
installation cd. I also recommend the fantastic core media player TCPMP, it's free and plays
most video and audio files.

The excellent Noah Pro dictionary and thesaurus are now also freeware.

I've also loaded up the freeware 'Headcold' which allows you to listen to any sound through headphones,
and 'Soundrec' also freeware which is a full blown dictaphone application. But make sure you get
version 1.07d as this works best with the Treo 650.

More essential freeware is 'Filez', which is a file manager, I also like the freeware 'Palm File Browser',
which lets you browse the Treo and SD Card via the hotsync cable and a pc.

Also I use the freeware 'Ccrypt' to encode memo text files for privacy and security, and the freeware
'PalmPDF' for viewing pdf files on the lovely 360x360 high resolution screen.

I also use the freeware Chit Chat Lite for chat with instant messaging.

It will not be lost by owners of other operating systems that the Palm owner can fill his pocket computer
with interesting programs free of charge. There's a wonderful palm community out there.

The only software I bought is 'Weekview' for approximately £7.50 from www.pimlicosoftware.com ,
as I missed this fabulous diary feature from my Treo 600.

Check out the treo yahoo group -<address truncated> and http://mytreo.net/ for software downloads and info.

Fergus, I am using a Krusell 'Classic' case at the moment for my Treo 650, but I will look at the skin you mention.
The only thing I've used Bluetooth for so far is exchanging files with a cousins Treo 650, as I am still using my Treo 600
wired headset at the moment.

Best Wishes,

Mike Dyer.

I keep looking out to see what HTC are doing and it seems that they are planning to release a machine with a very similar footprint to the netBook!

Check out the HTC Shift and see what you think:
