> Could there be a macro or app that already does this? It seems like it should be a pretty basic operation. Currently I have to bookmark each link separately and then select the bookmark individually to start the download process, which is pretty cumbersome, especially when there are lots of URLs I want to download.

Do you want to do it on the Psion, using a dial up or wireless connection to the internet?  If so, you could try "Web Grabber" from
http://www.kabestin.com/webgrabber.html- I tried it a very long time ago and found it to be so slow as to be not worth using but that was on a 5mx and dialup connection.  Maybe it would be ok on a netBook with a wireless connection to broadband?

If you want to do it using your PC's connection to the internet and then synchronise with your Psion try Mobipocket Reader.  You need version 4.8 from here:
http://www.mobipocket.com/en/DownloadSoft/DownloadManualInstall.asp- scroll to the bottom of that page.  You might need the .sis file for the Psion itself.  You used to be able to create your own news files with Mobipocket eNews Creator but I see that program is no longer available on the Mobipocket site because the current version of the Reader (v 6) has a built in RSS synchronisation facility - but it's no use for Psion users.

All three of the sites you mentioned are already available as eNews with the Mobipocket reader - I checked.

Alternatively, you could try to find Palmtop Offline Web.  It's much slower and more cumbersome but allows you to define the depth of a web site and will download some pages that Mobipocket won't.  Not sure where you'll get it though.

Best wishes
Austin

Dear All,
This is not strictly a PDA question. I have just bought an Sandisk 8GB Ultra II CF card, to use as a backup drive. This is plugged into a PC Card to CF adapter, which sits permanently in the PC Card slot on my laptop. Does anyone know what the maximum data transfer speed of the PC Card slot is/might be, and is the data transfer speed affected by the type of PC Card-CF adapter that I am using? The guy in the shop said that the CF adapter is simply a pass-through device, and should have no real influence on how quickly I can write to my CF card, but I have my doubts.

Cheers in advance for any info, Ian.

} Alan - thanks for the answer. I'll try the cleaning. Before I
} do, did you follow / do you have any advice for opening the machine?

A few years ago I found a web page and saved a copy.  That was the easy
part.

The difficult part is finding it.  As soon as I find it I'll post again.
Basically remove the cards under the covers between kbrd and screen.
(S7 x1 and nB x2)

Remove the kbrd to gain access.

But first backup and remove the batteries - both of them.  Also be very
careful about damage by static discharge - earth yourself and everything
on the Psion.

Hello and comments are welcome from anybody.
If Steve Lichtfield is reading this, I would cherish his feedback in
particular.

I am new to S60 3rd edition and understood it could not support a
nested folder structure. This was supposed to come with FP1, but plain-jane
3rd edition could only create one level of folders and files in it?
Indeed the manual of my new Nokia E61i reads at page 11 (it is in
French, since I live in Belgium): "it is not possible to create folders
inside folders".
True to the word, my new E61i creates happily nested folder structures
in "documents" on a 1 GB microSD card down to the fourth level (I did
not care to go deeper), moves and copies files up and down the branching
structure and supports "parallel" levels of folders along nested
folders one inside the other.
Now, I seem to understand that the E61i runs on regular, non FP1, S60
3rd edition. Other signs of FP1 (like a red point along open apps, for
example) are indeed missing.
A pleasant surprise, really!
Any comments, folks?

Regards,
Franco Cozzani
