Subject: Faulty mains power input on 5mx

The mains supply connection on my 5mx is dodgy: it makes intermittent contact and has to be twiddled to bring the power light back on. The power is steady while the machine isn't being touched - it's only when the pin is rotated in the socket that it goes off and on.

So I rely on batteries all the time - but I'd like to have reliable mains power when backing up or when changing the batteries (of course, I take the precaution of closing all files before a battery change).

I know it's like asking "How long is  a piece of string?" - but is there any sort of fix I can try?

I was given this link by my son. Stephen Fry talking about the I,phone but also mentioning the psions in a long discourse.  I found it very interesting.

Hi John, Could you tell me more about the N73? For example, does it have a good contacts program, and data, and is there something for opening PDFs and Word documents?

Thanks,

Rick

John

I'm considering getting an N73 and would be very interested in getting a copy of your settings if you have them typed up.  I still use my 5mxPro with a Nokia 6230i but suspect the settings may be different.

Best wishes
Austin

Further to my earlier post I have found that using the Modem icon in tools without the usb cable attached gives an infra red connection default.
This links easily to the psion infra red and email and Web both work a treat.
Happy to share any settings with anyone interested.

John

Subject: Life after Mako

Hello,

I have been haning on to my Mako/Revo plus for years now. They keep dying and one of these days I will move on. I was wondering if someone could help me with the following.

1. Good sources for battery replacement/revo repair
2. Any revo plus/mako for sale out there ?
3. What device to move next to. I use agenda, sheet, database, contacts extensively.

Thanks very  much

Subject: Fixtures & Sheet apps

Morning All,

Glad to see there are still a few of us left.
I require some help please...
...can anyone recall if an application was released that would help with the creation of league fixtures. You know the kind of thing.. A plays B, B plays A, A plays C, M plays Z, etc. I need various formats for our local pool league as various parts of the league have a different number of teams and venues.
Mathemtically, I've figured it out for 10 teams. Simple? No not really, but the patterns easily revealed their nature when put down by pencil and paper. (I dread to think what will happen when the league gets more complex).

Also, did anyone ever release an updated version of Sheet. One where functions such as "COUNTIF" were included?
If not, has anyone got a list of workaround macros or 'plugins' for Sheet that would suffice? Or a weblink to a self-professed expert?
I'm no expert in Sheet/Excel/Eureka(RiscOS), but can usually follow complex instructions.

Any pointers most welcome, thank you.

kind regards

Peter

Is there anyone who's got the settings for Siemens M65 for infrared modem connection with a netBook (or Psion 5).
