Subject: Sidekick, or Blackbery, or forget it?
My cell phone contract is timing out and I have the option of a new machine with the contact renewal. Two of the machines offered are the Sidekick and the Blackberry.
1. Do either or both of these work well as phones?
2. Do they work well in PIM functions (Agenda and Address book)?
3. Is there backup capability for agenda and address book to either flash or, better yet, to a Windows desktop?
I'm not looking for something that compares with the 5mx (although that would be wonderful) but something that will provide basic functions.

Re.: Life after Mako - Hi, I would try and find a 2nd hand S7, mBook or netBook. They are still around and it would give you a colour screen as well, only they are larger and not that easy to take around.

Re.: Fixtures & Sheet apps - I am not sure I understand what you want exactly from such a spreadsheet. Do you want to automatically create a list of fixtures or do you want to keep the results on it ? Start looking on old Psion websites as there were thousands of sheet files released by many people. Maybe you will find a file like that in excel format which can be adapted for Psion sheet ?
Best regards,
Itamar

Re.: PSION 5 and Email - There is of course the SmtpAuth program for the Psions written by Marcus von Cube. However, I am not sure whether this will work on the S5 or not. In order to free memory you can always close all other programs but the email. I started it on my netBok and it needs abt. 3M of memory.

Re.: M5000 backing up/ restore - Do you mean that TomTom works on the phone or that your TomTom and phone don't clash next to each other ?
On my WM5 phone I use Spb backup to make a baqck-up every morning at 4.00 am. It works very well and I used it several times after a hard reset and it restores everything without fail. I don't know if it is around already for the WM6. As to other programs, that is of course very personal what you like or not and I am not sure which programs have already been adapted for WM^ and not but I have on my WM5 phone :
Games : 4-in-line, backgammon , solitaire, PPcCheckers, Bridge, Chess and Hearts
Programs : iLauncher, Agendus Standard, acbTaskman, calcNote, ClearVue PDF, DEPReader, FastCleanup, FreeUp Ram, Fring, GSPocket, HanDBase, HichHiker, Passowrd Master, PBreeze, PocketClock, SKTools, Smartmovie, Spb Backup, TouchNotes, WM5NewMenu, XnViewpocket, Pocket Weather and not to forget TomTom Navigator 6.
If you want any details about these programs don't hesitate to ask me (in the digest please so others can read it as well).
Best regards,
Itamar

Subject: Printing from TimeLog
I use Thomas Nemec's TimeLog all the time. It seems to be abandonware, so I've 'registered' it with a password generated with Register. (If Thomas ever reappears, I'll cheerfully pay the reg. fee.)
The password keeps the nag screens at bay, but it won't let me print or export. Can anyone offer a solution ? (A working Name + Code combination would be one.)
