Pocket Surfer-

I have been looking at the Pocket Surfer2 and it seems a great device IF
you only want to surf the net and use web based applications.  It's
major drawback is that it (appears to) have no built in applications.
So no diary, email, document processing  etc   -  unless you are
connected to t'interweb !

As an alternative I am considering the Nokia N810 (due out 30th
November).  The N810 is the third iteration of the Nokia Internet
tablets, N700 and N800 were previous versions.  Its hideously expensive
but offers built in applications as well as web access and is built on
Nokia version of Linux.
It will also run a Palm emulator - so will support some Palm
applications (yet to see how well they cope with a much larger screen).

So I am saving my pennies (££) and waiting till after Christmas....

So far I can tell you that the most disappointing issue is the calendar. It is nothing like "Agenda" and is probably worse than the calendar on my Treo 650 (palm). I am going to try and find a 3rd party Agenda-like app. Anyone know if such a thing exists ?

Years ago, I used an app that would automatically expand short forms to
full words.

e.g.:  app<space>  becomes application after typing the space bar.

Anyone remember it's name and where it might be.   If I knew it's name,
I might have it on file!
