Thanks to all for the eeepc tips.  I see some of the stuff and language and it all looks a bit harder to use then our other devices.  Although in 1994 Psion took a bit of getting used to and it is so easy now including using the Nokia phones with Symbian Operating System---not unlike Psion at all---so maybe the eeepc will be the same way with Linux.
Thanks,
Bobby

I've answered my own questions re: Writer and File Manager.

When "saving" or "saving to" you navigate in the top box before you type in name in the lower box.  Counter intuitive a bit but it works. Now if I could only figure how to create a new Writer file while in File Manager, all will be better.

Hi all; I am going to put my Revo/5MX into mothballs shortly with the
recent purchase of a 9300. Can anyone give me some suitable software
equivalents for:

SafePlace
Yacht
Mille Bornes
Converter
Cascade/SameGame
Frotz (does the 9200 version work on a 9300?)

I'm aware that some of these may be unfeasible due to  not having a
touchscreen but someone may be able to point in the direction of
software that does a similar job.

Regards
Chris

Can't figure out how to control file placement when working in Open Office - Writer and/or File Manager 4.0
I can create a Word document ok but when I go to save it there is no option to allow the designating of a folder.
When I try to Save To, there is no option to specify (or navigate to) Folder.
When I try to create a "Word" document (I guess "Writer document would
be more accurate) in File Manager, there is only the option to create
a Folder.
After saving a document, I can go looking for it in File Manager and
find it, the cut and paste to move it where I wish.
What am I missing???

Jim,
In OpenOffice v2.3 when you use Save, a screen should give you the file "Name", then "Save in folder" (may be greyed out). then "Browse for other folders" with a downward arrow, which should give you your "account name folder"  (highlighted) and "Create Folder", which is where you can either select the folder in your account area (usually best to use Documents - like My Documents in Windows and then create folders within Documents to store your files in).
Hope that helps.
All the best,
      Kate!!

I am using a "new" 5MX for Street 99 version 1.4 build 132 on EPOC version 1.05 (250) - different to my usual 1.05(260).
I am getting the following errors every time I use it and it runs very slowly.
Reason Code USER Reason No. 19
Reason Code KERN-EXEC Reason code 3

The program runs perfectly on my 5MX pro and my old "backup " 5.

Any ideas?

Regards
John
