In regards to the comment about the HTC Touch being a possible replacement for the 5mx, I would suggest the HTC Mogul.  While I still miss the 5mx I used faithfully for years, this smartphone is similar, with a large touch screen, a slide out keyboard, and incredible battery life. Meanwhile if anyone needs an old 5mx, let me know.  I have 2 available, one has a broken screen cable. Janet

The "Jesus phone" (as its called amongst the blogs over here) has a lot of things that rule it out for a lot of serious PDA users:

1. No database application (Address Book doesn't cut it)

2. No PDF application  (yes, there's a viewer in the Email app but
you have to email PDFs to yourself to instantiate it).

3. No word processor or spreadsheet app.

4. AT&T data network is HORRIBLY slow - Apple picked the worst carrier for data in the US.

5. Not 3G (yet).

Looks exactly the same as the EEE except its not an Intel CPU (probably why its cheaper).

Download the Nokia Software Updater program from the Nokia website onto a PC. This allows you to flash the phone to the latest version of the firmware - as long as you have a broadband connection to the PC. Tip: be sure Nokia PC Suite is fully closed down when you do this, should you have it installed.

Thank you, Itamar and Harold, for your reply.
Elonex want to deliver the ElonexOne only to GB habitants.
But, as Trygve wrote, may be the Alpha400 can replace the netBook. Will check this.

Re.: Qtek 9100 replacement - Thanks for yr answer and the Touch Dual has now replaced the Touch in the UK so I have been told, the HTC Touch has beendiscontinued.     I think this phone might well meet my requirements of more or less the same functionality as the Qtek 9100 without the keyboard and so being slimmer and somewhat smaller. The dual comes with a sliding numeric keyboard which I did not want either, but what can I do. The screen is a proper "touch screen" which can be used with your finger or a stylus.  I might switch from Vodaphone to Orange to get this phone free of charge.

I I will go ahead I will update you with further details.

Best regards,

Itamar
