Congratulations from the US to our new Grandfather. It's wonderful. I always tell new grandparents that you know how much you love your children, well there is a whole different level of love that you have for your grandchildren. Until one is a grandparent one doesn't know that feeling.
Thanks,
Bobby

If you make copies of the AlarmServer.ini file (along with a note as
to what the up-coming alarm info actually is), there should eventually
be enough examples for *someone* (with some time & patience) to
reverse engineer the file format (using a hex viewer/editor), and thus
devise a small (OPL) program to read the relevant info.
This page may give some hints as to how one would start:

BTW, writing an OPX requires writing C++, as well as the Nokia/Symbian
SDK. Very few people would be up to this task... Where-as reverse
engineering the ini file format should be doable by almost anyone with
some programming experience.

Subject: Transfer of Data from RMR Home to RMR Bank
RMR software for the Psion 5 Series is now at reduced prices and is very good value.
I previously purchased RMR Home Inventory and needed to transfer the data to RMR Bank- a fully integrated financial program.
The files are OPL data files which I examined one afternoon whilst recovering from an injured knee.
As the files are compatible the transfer process is simple.
Assuming that this is the first property in Bank:
1. setup your property in RMR Bank (Home inventory view)
2. ensure that the rooms and categories in Bank are set up identically to those in Home (especially order of rooms/categories)
3. Copy the existing "Your Home" .dat file from c:\apps\RMRHome\Data\ to c:\apps\RMRBank\data\ and rename it insure1.dat.
4.View the data in RMRBank room by room and category by category in order to update the totals.
Hope someone finds this useful.

John
