Hello John
* I have also purchased a netbook with no user manual . Where can I get * a manual from?
You can find The netBook manual in PDF format
on
http://www.pscience5.net/psifilesepoc.htm
* What top 10 programs should I now install on the "Netbook"
The same as on the 5MX, but sometimes you must download the nB version. Look also on http://www.pscience5.net/colouricons.htmfor the colouricons.

Mike, Thank you for the informative post. I too noted Sverlove's contribution. I do believe there is a lot of misleading hype about security issues. I have used the internet with my family for over ten years without security problems. I use free Antivirus and Firewall, however dumped the latter as it insisted on too much input (probably due to my inability to set it up properly) and I update as required. However I will research as to whether that update will bring advantages or problems. In the past several recommended Windows updates have broken my machine. My 'computer unwilling' brother managed to infect his machine very soon after he connected! But it was only an irritating infection easy (for me) to remove. I think it is the user that is the main problem, putting too much info out there, deceived by and clicking on unknown icons, opening mails from unknown sources and, sometimes, by doing nothing!
I find it interesting also that with each update my AV software finds more and more 'threats' in my old files that earlier were no threat at all! In the same way you would not think you could drive on the road without learning of the dangers you can't 'drive' a computer on the internet without some awareness. Unfortunately the vendors would have you believe otherwise if you buy and install their products!
