Subject: Recovering a Protected EPOC-Word file

Editing a Password-protected Word file today I went to move (Ctrl-X) a small selection of a few words and paste (Ctrl-V) to another part of the document. I got a short error message "Corrupt" after the Ctrl-X. I continued with a little more editing and saved the file.

Couldn't reopen it. When I type in the pwd the error is now "Not enough memory". I have plenty of memory.

Copied file to the same directory (CF disc D) = won't open.
Copied file to the C disc = still won't open.
BUT a backup of the same file opened ok.

I will avoid Password-protected Word files from now on. Unless there is a trick to fixing them when they go wrong.

Is there?

Re.: News about Owen... -  <Off topic>  In a way I admire Owen. He has got the guts to do what he likes and persists almost against all odds. <on topic> For those unaware Owen was a member of this digest for a long time and contributed a lot until he had a collision with his sailing boat and lost all his equipment (ie Psions).

Best regards,

Itamar

To ashoni

The best way to export individual Date entries to an archive is made through macros. But you have to write them fast individually, as the Data structure may differ from one file (or user) to another.
Or can View+ do the job ?

> also when you search for 1 word say "Tom" to see every task that involves "Tom" and then you update 1 of the tasks, the list defaults back to the whole file again as if you had not done the search for "Tom" has anyone experienced this & found a workaround?

No idea.
