I owned the first EEEpc that came out I hated the keyboard and the
screen was too low res and cramped for me.

Wow, did you really expect this to happen on a games console?!
Mind you, my interest in netbooks is in running Linux on them, so I dont care about XP / Vista because wiping the drive is the first thing I would do! Bear in mind, Linux has plenty of free open source programs to cover word processing, spreadsheets, databases, etc.

I have been using GAROUTE to update some Overlays and found that as my Route Planner was old (V1.0) there were compatibilty problems as Palmtop changed their overlay format. Fortunately there is a free upgrade to version 1.4 available at
www.bioeddie.co.uk/Psion/main/Programs/epoc_vault.html.
On another issue I have been using PsiNMEA to get a better understanding of the GPS system (baumbach-web.de ). The manual is in German but I have almost completed a translation. If anyone wants a copy please let me know. It is not perfect but will assist in getting the most from the program.

Re.: VAIO P Just out of interest, what is the difference for you between XP and Vista on these machines ? I have XP in the office and Visat on my laptop and hardly see the difference. Is there something significant for smaller machines here ?
