Dear Thomas,

It is a question of how you define "repair" when you had to repair your repair four times.

Again, it is a question of how you define "rest of life".
If you destroy your netBook while trying to repair it, that repair still lasted for the rest of it's life. ;-)

I don't want to scare off people to try to repair it.
You will want to ask yourself in advance how long will the netBook live without repair, how long will it live with repair and compare the answers. It might help extending the lifetime, if the repair is done by somebody who knows what he or she is doing.

Yours truly,

as quoted by Itamar
"The repair itself is not very difficult if you follow the instructions posted by other digestees. .......................................... However, it is not a guarantee for a 100% success for the rest of the life of your netBook. The calibration problem may re-occur. I already did the repair five times............................"

and re-occur it will

I have posted many times that this problem has always occured during the HOTTER weather so from my own personal expericenes I've always paid very close attention
to where I use and store my netbook.
ex. Leaving it in the car where temp. soars, my netbook became so unuseable that i had to cool it off
to just be able to get even the calibration to work........... a very long senairo made short.....
now that I pay very close attention to the temperatures of where my netbook is ending up It been years
that I've had any major setbacks with this dilemma
before this awareness
Many, many repairs had to have been made.

P.S. if u think about this it does make sense, HEAT causes expansion which loosens the adhesive grip!

Thanks for all the answers sofar. Before I would try to do any repairs I need to be sure I can start up the machine again without problems and I noticed now that I still have the Malaysian netBook Os.IMG from before my upgrade to the netBook.

Where do I find the correct OS.IMG file for version 1.05(450) ?

Thanks nad best regards,

Itamar
