Before switching to the Apple Iphone please consider the Nokia E71 or soon to be released E72.
If you can get past the smaller screen and lack of touchscreen in my opinion this smartphone is much closer to the functions of a Psion.
Firstly there is a Qwerty keyboard. Granted the keys are small but they are raised making typing faster than you would think. My only gripe is that the Ctrl and Chr are on the same key which means pushing 3 keys for Control V. This has been fixed on the E72.
The Symbian OS has of course evolved from Epoc. The apps even have the SIS extension which means Psiwin will try to load them on to your Psion if you let it :-)
Symbian phones come with a lot of funtionality built in. There is a servicable calender included. However there are three other calenders worth considering and I have upgraded to Handy Calender. Not as good as Agenda but then I don't think you will find the equal of Agenda on any platform!

Quickoffice V6 is included allowing editing of Word and Excel files. For a database app I am currently trialling HanDbase which I have used extensively on the Palm platform.  I also have Projekt a good outliner along the lines of Bonsai on Palm.
If you don't require GPS then the E63 with otherwise similar funtionality and form is a bargain. There are also a couple of other recent Nokia phones with  Qwerty key e.g. E75 and N97

I admit that the implementation of the
Iphone interface is superb and it probably wins in terms of the media stakes. However for productivity I am not so convinced

What about the twice a year full backup when Windows does the daylight saving changes?

Or have M$ solved that problem now?

I thought I'd solved that problem by switching off automatic and
manually changing the clock twice a year.  Then I noticed that I was replying to e-mails before the original had been sent, as Windows XP
can't cope with this.

Alan.
