Hi
I noticed this story on Reg hardware today:
http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/08/27/sharp_linux_arm_netbook/The dimensions are very similar to the 5MX.
No international launch dates or prices yet...
Steve
Thanks for the info, very interesting but the PC-Z1 measures 161.4 x 108.7 x 19.7-24.8mm
Regret still no good for me as the width is too large at 108.7mm.
Shall have to stick with my 5mx which at 90mm just fits in my inside jacket pocket and available to takes notes, amend Agenda, etc, etc, easily by the keyboard at any time.

As a Psion and Zaurus shop, this unit seems to qualify as a possible successor for one or both. I will offer the Sharp Netrunner
in October in my shop (www.pulster.de) the price tag in Japan is quite
high, so I will offer the unit for c.550 eur.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for this, it looks beautiful. Stylus input too (though I don't know if the one they supply qualifies!).
If only I could afford one :(

Hello Digest readers!
EPOC Entertainer 21, the September issue, is now available from its home at the URL below. EPOC Entertainer is a magazine leaflet about games for the EPOC32 platform. Computers covered include the Oregon Scientific Osaris, the Psion Revo/Revo Plus and Diamond Mako, the Psion Series 5, 5mx and 5mx Pro, the Ericsson MC218, the Geofox One, and the Psion Series 7 and netBook. The magazine leaflet is published monthly (usually!) in PDF format, as an A5 leaflet to be printed on both sides of A4 paper.
In this month's issue, we look at the efforts of one enthusiast in tracking down purchase and registration details for software. Two games are reviewed: the Awari board game and the popular Vexed puzzle game. We also continue the series on playing games under emulation on the Psion, this month looking at emulating a vintage IBM PC. As usual, downloads related to this month's reviews are available at the web site.

Hello!
I agree with Chris Handley's quote in digest 1400, "And of course Psion (as a commercial platform) has been completely dead for some years." Indeed, who can disagree?
One thing that disappoints me though is the small amount of activity EPOC32 sees as a hobbyist platform. A few of us are still playing with the things, and occasional new software does come out, but compared to other obsolete commercially dead like the Spectrum, C64 and some old consoles, there's very little activity and it's a struggle for the few to keep things going.
I wonder how we can rectify this? And I wonder if enough people want to?
Damian
PS. fans of the EPOC16 platform might be interested to know that there's a project to port the Psion 3a Horace in the Mystic Woods game to the Spectrum. You can read about it at the www.worldofspectrum.org forums (under "New Game Ideas").
