Hi Michael,
I live in the same part of the world as Jim.  I also have a Eee PC, Linux, and a Aspire One, Windows.  I like them both very much but the Eee PC has such a strong and solid feel about it that makes it great to use.  I do think the keyboard on the Aspire on is a bit easier to use.
I am using Xandros.  I do fine it hard although it could be mostly my inexperience with Linux that is most of the problem.  For example I would like to upgrade from Open Office 2.0 to Open Office 3.2 so it will accommodate Office 2007, but you don't just install it like you would on Windows--it is a more difficult process.  I also hear that you can put on an advanced desktop which, from what I hear, gives you more options more like Windows type stuff.
These are some of the things that I find a bit more difficult with Linux.
I don't know if Jim finds the same things or not.

Thanks,
Bob

Subject: EPOC ER5 OPL SDK/Emulator

Greetings!

Jaap Laméris asked about the netBook emulator...

I've already sent him a link to the download(27MB file) of the EPOC ER5 SDK, which while it doesn't have a 'netBook' setting, does have a 'VGA size' emulator. The only difference most will notice is that the silk-screen buttons are at the bottom of the screen, not at the righthand edge.

If anyone wants it, just email me directly to get the link.
(Not posting it here as I may decide to move or remove it from my site later)

I also have the C++ and two Java SDKs for EPOC ER5.
(the two Java kits are from 1999 and 2000 )

I also have a complete emulator and IDE for the SIBO series, but that was commercial SW, so I probably shouldn't consider uploading any of that.
(Well... maybe the emulator part... )

I also have a Nokia 9210 SDK somewhere.

:-)

I think I have this or most of it anyway. From the readme and pdf files :

Version 2.30  C 2001-2002

Welcome to the Symbian OS netpad SDK CD

This CD contains documentation on the netpad (and Acrobat Reader
to view it with), PC connectivity applications (PsiWin), and SDKs
to allow you to develop applications in C++, Java, and OPL32 for
the Psion Teklogix netpad running Symbian OS [EPOC] release 5.

These SDKs also contain Windows emulators for the netpad.

I have this in several zip files:
C++SDK.zip 156Mb
connect.zip 3.8Mb
cpp.zip 92Mb
documentation.zip 9.3Mb
java.zip 17Mb
netpad.zip 112Mb
opl.zip 26Mb
Total 266Mb

How would you like it ? can I upload it for you some were ? ftp perhaps ?

I have had the emulatou running on a EeePC 701 running under wine on linux.

Subject: Regopx.opx

Hello,

I got a program, but it doesn't run.
The program needs the Regopx.opx file
Where can I find this opx or does someone own this opx? If so, please send it to me.

TIA

Regards,
Kees

Subject: SD/CF cards

All,

Quick question.
Does a standard SD card to CF card adaptor work in a Psion Netbook?
Think it should, just wondering if there would be a problem with the Psion reading the SD card disk.
My laptop doesn't have an IR port, so currently for data transfer on the move I need to C-Beam files by IR to my Nokia N80, then transfer them by Bluetooth to my laptop.

The laptop has an SD slot, if I could use that for moving data from Netbook to laptop, life would be a little bit easier.

If SD to CF works; does it follow that a MiniSD in a SD adaptor in a CF adaptor would work also?

Thanks.

Peter
