Hi Jaap,
I wrote my own Toolbar.opo some years ago, which is part of FreeOPMs
package, available from the Freepoc website or from my own website,
www.ian-chapple.com (yes, I know, a bit OTT). The main advantage of my
toolbar.opo was the ability to define up to 16 buttons, depending on the
screen dimensions; you can see this in some of my applications (ie.
Glucomon or MyNotes) where there are 11 buttons displayed, as well as a
clock.

I have no idea whether my toolbar.opo works under the emulator, as I
have never used any of the Psion emulators, so I would certainly be
interested to hear whether you are successful or not...?

Cheers, Ian.

To Koi Hin,

And of course you might have added that not all Arabs are Moslem either.

In principle all OPL programs can be run on the WINS 'emulator'.  In practice some OPL programs use OPXes that do not have WINS version available.

All my OPL programs will work on the emulator, although in the case of FastBackup it runs with slightly reduced functionality (due to one missing OPX)

The N97 comes with a version of Quickoffice that allows read only access to spreadsheets, word documents and PowerPoint files.  You have to pay to upgrade to the version that you can edit these files with.  However, for me, it's not worth it because the screen is so small and the Symbian OS is no so cumbersome and lumbering as to make it a very unattractive proposition.
It's no replacement for a 5mx, that's for sure and perhaps one reason why editing capability doesn't ship with the device?

Much more seriously in my opinion, and a fatal flaw by Nokia, is that the N97 comes with a 15 day trial of Acrobat reader only, again supplied by Quickoffice.  So to read PDF files after 15 days you have to pay.  That, in my opinion, is inexcusable the whole point about PDF files is that they are supposed to be freely accessible.  As far as I can see, all other platforms still have a free reader so, if this is important to you get another device platform. There is a non touch screen version of the acrobat reader still available on the Nokia site, which I installed and use.  You can't associate it with PDF files so it has to be manually launched each time, and you can only navigate with the keypad open, which is a pain, but for me these irritations are outweighed by not having to pay for it and confirm their flawed business model.

Best wishes
Austin
