Back in September I (and others) wrote enquiring about the OPL
emulator download, but didn't get any response. If you're still out
there I (we) would be happy to hear about this!
Thanks.

I originally wrote:

That's great news. As a relatively recent ASUS EEE (10" LCD, Win XP) user I've been very happy with the machine, its capabilities and long battery life. I expected it to replace the mBook, but someone I still find myself using the mBook daily!

So at this point is there a definitive download that encompasses all the most recent EPOC OPL emulator changes and is available for all us Windows netbook users? It would be handy to be able to run this definitive emulator version on our new hardware, as our Psions slowly crumble away...!

Thanks,
Andy

I'd like to use my 5mx for note taking and would like to send my notes via infrared to a Palm Treo Pro.  But I can't seem to make that work, using the Psion's built-in infrared.  Is there a special EPOC program that I need?

Thank you.

It's worse than the author has suggested.

My Palm m515 and my Nokia "dumbphone" synchronise to my PC which is entirely under *my* control. However, most modern smartphones synchronise to a
"cloud" application. This means that all the data on the phone are copied to a set of files on a server owned and operated by a company such as Google or Palm, depending on who made the phone's Operating System or who sells the phone. Thus the data are entirely outside your control. You have no idea where the server is nor where it might be tomorrow. You have no control over who has access to the data. You will have no idea if/when the data are stolen/sold/compromised or accidentally released to the world because some employee left a back-up CD on the train.

In addition, it's not just *my* data on my phone. It could well be data about you: your name, address, job title, work address, names (and photos?) of your kids, your boss's name, your secretary's name, where you will be on possibly several dates (when we meet for business or other purposes) etc. etc.

Could you (your company) sue me for releasing those data about you (it)? Could I be put on the sex offenders' register because I have released photos of your kids onto the internet? Could you be put on the register for
allowing photos of your kids to be uploaded to the internet? And so on and so forth.

Horrible.

No thanks.
