I have a Microsoft-free household - all Macs or Linux :-)

Hi Jim, I don't have a Palm so don't know how good it works, but there are several solutions. - Gnome Pilot is a GNOME applet with a daemon that monitors for connections from a PalmOS-based device. - Opensync Palm plugin allows applications using OpenSync to synchronise to and from PalmOS based devices using its HotSync system. - There are also Perl and Python modules available to synchronize directly with the Palm.

Best regards,
/Michael

Darn!  Now you are making me rethink my decision not to replace my dead NBP!

The form factor is perfect, but the difficulty in getting decent
working software, and not being able to sync or connect via a serial
cable made me think
it was not worth getting another one.

But if linux is working on it ... that changes the software picture a bit.

Hardware-wise it is actually a very, very nice platform for WinCE (and
Linux) - but because it was never really intended for
the consumer space - there is not much software that works on it
without some hacking.

Thanks for the info!!
