I stand corrected.  However I'm delighted to see you follow the digest.

BTW, I'll be sending in an order for MC218 whose screen died last week

And from AJ

That's the key point after keyboard for me: Instant... NOT fast,
Instant.
AND ... Instant switching between multiple tasks... all there waiting
for me.

I have yet to see an Agenda replacement that gives the anniversary years from start option plus zero duration but timed events ... in such a
simple and fast interface ... Lotus Organizer that nicely grabs most of
the data makes me feel like I am writing a biography of every contact I
try to update.

Hi Jim
Try Google with "what is a G-Phone" or "Define G-Phone" and you'll be amazed. Have fun.

Subject: Picked up PsiXpda on Friday - too soon to assess

I bought/collected my PsiXpda from POS on Friday - an act of faith and
perhaps premature but I was driving past the door* on the A23 on the way to
work, the last time for 2 weeks.
Price is £499 with a slight discount for being a POS customer since 2002
recommended by Itamar.

As Jon Welford suggested it is indeed a rebadged Chinese device, best
described by the POS marketing man Ewan Spence at:
http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/netbook-pda-psixpda.php
Mine was the first to be supplied on site (sales started on Friday) and came
without manuals etc and the G3 module was fitted while I waited.
Running ubuntu, it is not an "instant on" 5mx/phone type device taking 45
secs to boot up the the Username/Password, and 45 secs to shut down.
Regret I have been working since Friday so have not had time to investigate
further.
A lot will obviously depend on what software is/becomes available, battery
life, etc as to whether it will replace my 5mxs - accepting their 18 month
screen cable life repaired by POS or Paul Wright.

A stupid question as a non techie - but now we have similar sized hardware
to the 5mx, cannot one of you gurus cook up some Psion Series 7 type
software to run on it?

Shall keep you advised on progress/performance.

*Sorry Paul Wright, this is why I have not been back to you regularly - as I
can get my 5mxs repaired while I wait at POS, but thanks for your fine
service.
