Macro5 could be the solution.  Use it to set all settings and run that macro at start up.

Subject: Nokia N810 instead of Psion 5mx

Hi Balazx

I went from Psion 3a to Palm V,  to Palm T,  to Palm Zodiac and thence
to Nokia N810
The O/S on the N810 is called Maemo, version OS2008.
(previous version was OS2007, latest version is Maemo 5 on Nokia N900)
A list of download for OS2008 is here:
http://maemo.org/downloads/OS2008/more info on using & abusing is here:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
N810 Good features:
large bright hi res screen 800x480,  twin speakers and 3.5mm jack - good
sound
Built in GPS with Maps free from Nokia (navigation available as a pay
for extra)
Internet browser built in,  is good but slow
Email built in and is OK
lots of Media players available i.e. Canola2
Ereader: FBreader very good
Mapping software that can use downloaded satelite images : Maemo Mapper
VNC software for remote connection to your other computers
Video player: mplayer very good at coping with N810 limitations

N810 shortcomings.
Keyboard is not as good as 5mx (how could it be  :-)
No Agenda,  no PIM and NOTHING comparable to Psion or Palm agenda.
- the nearest is the GPE suite of programs - but really a toy in comparison
- - This is the biggest "fault" of the N810 for any of us ex Psion users
: -)
Video has to be transcribed /converted for the slow screen of N810
  -  it cannot play non converted video - it even struggles with low res
You Tube.
Limited on board memory means that the more programs you install, the
slower all the software runs
- this is not entirely accurate but I am trying to avoid a 1000 word email
Both the N810 & Maemo OS2008 are unlikely to be supported much after 2010.

Summary:
A good media centric hand-held computer but a lousy Personal Information
Manager
Now superseded by N900 and even the Nokia 5800 phone !
