I assumed everyone knew that. Did I mention the TV-out, IR transmitter and FM radio? :-)
Upgrading to the N900 would be a nice jump up in functionality for me!

I think Abiword is available in one of the testing repositories. (If you've never seen Abiword see http://www.abisource.com/).
Gnumeric, the open source spreadsheet program was ported to previous tablets, but I dont know if its available for the N900 yet. (I dont really use spreadsheets much).

Its runs Linux (Maemo is Nokia's Linux-based OS).

I have been doing some ARM assembler programming to speed up one of my programs.
Readers may be interested in:
http://hbp.iconbar.com/psion.htmlwhere an assembler that runs on the Psion can be found. If you have trouble with the compressed files let me know and I will post the uncompressed files on tobidog.com
Also http://pagesperso-orange.fr/psions5-3495/
where Assembleur can be found. The examples and instructions are in French. I do have a translation which I can post if there is any interest.
Modern ARM textbooks are still relevant to the Psion as the RISK instruction set is still valid 11 to 12 years on.

I just put part of the screen close to my mouth and say 'arrrrgh'. ~~~~~~~~~

Hi Itamar,
Right now my provider does not have the N900 (my provider is "Drei"), but let's see, hopefully they will sell it eventually.

I know a lot of us are avoiding the iPhone because of the lack of a proper size keyboard
How about this: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2010/01/07/ces_ion_itype/although it is quite large and no where near compact as a Psion!
On the same site there is a also a review of the PsiXpda

Hello,
I thought the same about the PsiXPDA. Let's compare its price with what I used to pay for my toys. Here goes:
In 1996 I bought a 3a 512 kb with a 'free' flash SSD 512 kb for fl. 899. I had to buy the PsiWin 1 and the soap-on-a-rope cable with it for fl. 249. Total was fl. 1148 or $735.64 at current rate.
I found out at the same time, that my bank card had a limit of fl.500, which made the purchase quite complicated...
In December 1999 I bought the 5mx for fl. 1399, which is $ 896.41 at current rates.
I don't remember the new price for the netBook, but I bought an mBook in 2003 from Christoph Pulster at EUR 504 (which included P&P). Special price for the members of symbian.info .
I do remember that I found the price for a new netBook completely 'over the top' and then I found at that Psion quoted prices without VAT !
I was at grammar school in 1996 and I was a student in 1999. So... $ 600 is a whole lot of money, but hey... it's a hobby. :-)
Yours sincerely,
Thomas van der Zijden
Hello everybody,
MSN2Go, the Java-client for MSN that also works on the Psion netBook, does not work anymore. It says "Connecting to DP... IO error [connection refused by remote host]".
Has anybody else experienced this problem ?
It would be quite inconvenient if Micro$oft has again changed the protocol to kick out MSN2Go. This is as far as I know the only MSN chat client that works on the Psion netBook.
Yours truly,
Thomas van der Zijden
Engadget have finally done a thorough review of the Nokia N900: http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/19/nokia-n900-review/
Aj.
I'm planning on cycling in France this summer - riding from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean.
I have a Nokia N97 cell phone and use a prepaid plan. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which French company I should use when I get there to buy their SIM card and get a prepaid plan? And where would I look for these - phone stores, kiosks, supermarkets....? I know that in Germany I can buy cheap refills for a phone account at shopping stores like Aldi.
Let me know of your experiences in France.
Happy Cycling,

Thought For The Day: Handle them carefully, for words have more power than atom bombs.
I happily sync my Palm m515 to Palm Desktop 4.1.4 on my Win XP Pro PC.
I was wondering if I could sync it to Mozilla's Lightning (or Sunbird) calendar system.
I found a (potential) * solution that goes via Google calendar but I really object to putting all my data into Google's "cloud".
Any *direct* solutions?
Also, what about Contacts - syncing my Palm's contacts to Thunderbird's address book?
