Peter,
>>Meantime, I had to reset my NBook as the R/W to the CF card stalled and I couldn't soft reset the machine. After much cool, calm thinking (!) I hard reset the machine.
As usual, all my back up files were restored from the card; but, as usual, the Contacts app didn't as the C:System/Apps/Data/Contacts.cdb file becomes unrecognised. So I now have to unscramble the data from the old .cdb file open in Editor; and start all over again.
I've done this once before several years ago; mea culpa.
Q. Is there a decent replacement Contacts app (or plug-in) for the NB and 5mx that can restore itself from a remote data source after a hard reset?<<
One partial solution is to use the export feature of Contacts as a backup (File> More> Export Contact, then choose "All Contacts in View"); this creates a VCF file which can be read into any Contacts app, including Psion contacts after a crash. You can even use vCard, available from Freepoc (http://www.freepoc.org/viewapp.php?id=61),which was written by me some time ago.
Hope this helps (well, for next time at least), Ian.
The flexi has failed on my main 5MX , only the second one.
The Psionflexi website has gone as of yesterday, Is Paul still in business?
Regards
John
Arjen,
Thanks for trying to find a solution to this. Are there any other functions in system.oxh suffering in the same way?
Best wishes,
Martin

I can still connect my Psion 5mx to the internet using dial-up & an old US Robotics modem but can anybody tell me if it is possible to connect via my new BT Broadband Home Hub? Is there some sort of wireless CF card or wired connection via the serial port &, if so, where might I get whatever I require & what settings would I need? I'm not very tech savvy, I've had (& loved) my Psion for 10 years but internet & broadband in particular are pretty much a closed book to me!
Regards to all & many thanks for previous help
Cathy Roberts
