You may be surprised, but usually the offers in US are around 30-60%
cheaper than in Europe, e.g. Germany, resulting in quicker and broader
spread of new technology in US. For example, importing Tablet PCs from
US saves around 25% even tough shipping, import tax etc have to be paid.

My revo plus (16MB) was 845DM = 442€ = 597$.
The Psion 5 was 1300DM, now 665€ or 898$.

Ciao,

That's no surprise!  The N900 is the first phone running Maemo, with a totally new GUI to boot.  Plus Nokia has a tendency to release things too early, and then release lots of updates later.

I'm waiting for whatever superceeds the N900 (or else at least waiting for Nokia to fix all the bugs from releasing it too early).  MeeGo probably means Maemo will see more major changes, so I am tempted to wait for that (although if Nokia releases that too early then I could have a looong wait, so maybe not).

Are you sure there is no Sat Nav for the N900?  I thought it came with Nokia's own sat nav, like their previous Maemo devices?

Sad to hear the PIM software is "weak" - in what way?  Looked OK from the screenshots, I was just worried about the inevitable bugs (this being the first release with PIM).

Thanks Craig, that means I still have to wait and see (and use my Psions so far), although the new Sharp Netwalker seems to be quite useful too.

But I´d rather take the n900 with me, size matters in this case!!!
