Unfortunately I am not confident in international shipping as its expensive and tracking is lousy. When I have used royal mail and guaranteed post they will only track until the UK border. Thereafter you are at the mercy of the next country.

I know there are other services available but don't want the hassle of things going missing in another country as its still my responsibilty until the recipient gets it.

With reference to the palm it is sim locked and you would only either be able to use 3g on tmobile (i think) and edge on at&t in the usa.

I thought there was a gsm pre coming out in the usa?

Thanks

Yes mapping is now an important map for me especially if i need assistance my device is with me to help. Google maps is great but we havent got the navigation here in the uk or a dedicated n900 client. There is a workaround so you can use gps in the microb browser on google maps but mine has stopped working.

I use all of my devices with one exchange account hosted by mail2web.

My android devices connect to my google calendar but i will not use as have found it doesn't work well when syncing with other non android devices using services like goosync.

I have pidgin installed and am using the addons to the conversations application on the n900. The IM and conversations app on the n900 is great. Even when I select a contact I have a variety of options to contact people from their details via email, IM, sms or even call them.

Swap is enabled by default at 768mb.

The magazine is http://www.linux-magazine.com/Issues/2010/113/ON-THE-DVDthe .ast two digital pdf issues were 110mb in size each.

I have seen and used locale on android. I love the flexibility and detail and granular control android can offer over certain controls. Eg, my podcatcher stops playing when ac power is removed when i turn off my car engine when my phone is docked. Thus saving my position on the podcast. Or i only enable bluetooth when i plug into ac in my car etc...

Hi

The E90 was and still is a great phone even by todays standards. It has oodles of ram for running applications and both the keyboard and wide screen are a pleasure to use. Plus ot had a dual core chip to handle both voice and computer requirements rather than relying on the one processor like current newer devices.

I don't know why nokia stopped making them but am aware they were favoring other form factors such as the e75 as the e90 is a niche market.

The e75 like the e90 is another good phone and a good replacement albeit there is no widescreen.

The n900 is a pleasure to type on as a thumb board and I have to admit I used the e90 keyboard as a thumb board as well.

Its only the psion 5 where I have been able to actually properly type on whereas other devices today all seem to be about thumbs.

However ther psion 5 like the e90 are still advanced in certain areas such as physical hardware when compared to other devices such as the n900.
